After just 'pledging' again, even though i could only attend 2 games last season due to work commitments , i feel the club is at a very important time for the whole future of our club.
Lets face it , their is no way we will get another 6,000 pledges in 4 days and i dont really know where that is going to leave the club....
I think the club made a massive boo boo last season, yeah we all hear " mick potter has the full cap available" but did he really? no way did we spend the full cap and i don't know if thats because the players were not available or if all the cap wasn't really there to spend. The signings were ok, but there was never the major marquee everyone was looking for and what the team desperately needed, and for me this has continued in our recruitment for the coming season, you can't say " we missed out on leon so we have signed gale instead" not even the same position and miles apart in class regardless of age!!

Had the club 'Spent' the cap and brought in the quality that comes with spending big i believe we would of made the play offs and the current pledge would be well on course if not already achieved .
However i do worry that we will now fall into the catch 22 where, we cant attract the big crowds cause i dont believe the team is good enough to compete with it's current squad (including new players and still we dont have a 6 apart from briggs who was sent out last year on loan , but have 3 scrum halves) , but by the big crowds not been there we then won't have the funds to bring in the top players!!!
The club made a major gamble last year that i believe failed badly , they tried to get into the play offs with a average squad , hoping that then the pledges would come again and then probably try invest in better player , with that plan clearly not worked where does it leave us?????????????

yeahh i agree with everthing you say there spiderman. i do think you should be saying that we dont have a '7' but have '4' stand offs. Sammut will probably play there but he still is more of a 6, not like Mr Deacon or Mr Paul.

So you don't agree with everything lol , just kidding.
I honestly do think we have 3 scrum halves and no stand-offs, the problem we have had is the scrum halves just aint good enough. Your right, none of them could push the side around like deacon and paul, but thats not cause there a stand off, its just their simply not good enough.
Apart from briggs ( god knows what potters plan with him is) we don't have the likes of a maguire, price, chase, brown, bosc , who not only have pace and test the line themselves but also set-up plays out wide and support on the inside of breaks . I hate to say it but the rhinos have maguire, sinny and webb who could all play 6 over any in our squad .

I'd agree with your analysis. Most of the people we've stuck in at seven are really stand offs including Herbert, Jeffries and Briggs. We have Luke Gale coming in who I guess will be the starting seven next year but who will be alongside I don't know, maybe Briggs or Jeffries with Sammut at 13 maybe. Interesting times.
