Good for him .. how many of us fans have stuck two fingers up at the leeds rhinos when "we" have scored a try .. and we feel quite bitter towards are rivals!

i actually long for the day when players from each team wanted to play for that team and had a score to settle with the opposite number .. who they really didnt like and wanted to hurt (mainly fairly) in every tackle!!!

now a days ... if you go on twitter it is a total super league love in .. with players from each club mixing and skipping through daisy fields with each other .. @Deanwidders "hey hightower .. your wonderful" @hightower "no no your ace and i love you" .... oh please give it a break!!

ok on a semi serious note ... perhaps Sam has just over stepped the mark here .. But lets face facts we would love to see our players showing half the passion this guy plays with for HIS club!

Looks to me he has been reading too much of his own publicity. Brings the game into disrepute. We are not footballers. A one match ban

According to reports he`s even denied it, well showing from that picture i can`t really understand how he denies doing it. Instant Ban !

Problem is he won`t get a ban because he`s the rfl golden boy. He`a a professional sportsman and should act like one.

Classy RL player.. shame he cannot bring some of those qualities to his personality. I expect the RFL will brush it under the carpet until Hetherington makes a complaint a few weeks later.

He is a horrible pr!ck. So he is good at the game? Does that give him the right to act the way he does.

When I take the words "sam" and "Tomkins" out of it what I'm left with is a scenario where a player should be told by the RFL that his actions were stupid and anything like that in future will net him a ban.

Sadly the conspiracy theorists with their feeble intellects will herald this as proof positive that he is a 'golden boy'. Quite why he gets peoples juices going so extremely is beyond me.

Stupid thing to do. Even though I'm half-tempted to say he deserves a medal for the delightful collective apoplexy he has caused amongst a subset (sub- being the operative prefix) of the Leeds fans, and it was really little worse really than when Karl Pratt ran in front of the Leeds fans that time cupping his ear - or when Macca belted that penalty as hard as he could into the Threepenny Stand - no, even if maybe understandable it was just plain stupid. Deserves some punishment.

But as for the name on the back of the shirt...violent disinterest on my part. Stupidity is stupidity, regardless of who is the perpetrator.
