but dont forget that in this forum we are seeing the birth of a new type of player, the utility half back, such as Kearney who can no only play SO and FB during the same game, but is being promoted as a centre, and Herbert who apparently is also a 13, Sykes who is just about everything back wise or nothing depending on your opinion. So it wont be so important in the future, we will just have 10 utility half backs and thats it. Maybe 12 for a half back hooker and LF as well .A bit of a throw back to the days when we had 10 utility 2nd rows in the squad.
seriously now folks, interesting post re Lewis Straughn, those of you interested in forecasting next years squad as opposed to a first team 17, what are your thoughts? Some of you actually have got away from the one player versus another eg Kearney v Royston when we need both in the squad, and more than four props otherwise there is no cover for injuries. so the main squad is 26 or so players, and then about 6 younger talents that are only intended to be used sparingly eg Bateman, could Lewis be one of those?
