| Quote anarkik="anarkik"Adey, haven't we had this discussion before, as we know, no-one is going to pursue anyone for libel on here, because a) To call anything on here libel is a stretch b) proving authorship would be nigh on impossible c) it would cost more than could possibly be gained and d) none of us are rich enough, otherwise I hope we'd be buying in to the Bulls and helping out
'"
You might want to ask the mods or owners of various Hull forums over the years about whether anyone would threaten libel action against an internet forum? By way of example.
Certainly the RLFans site owners are mindful of the risks they face. If they were not concerned, why would they state the following so clearly and so early in the AUP?
"1.2a. Legal action
* This covers posting content that is libelous or racist, or which risks legal action being taken against the site.
* Under British libel laws the burden of proof is on the defendant so we will consider anything potentially defamatory as libelous."
Proving authorship - remember its on "balance of probabilities" in a civil case - would not be that hard given email addresses and names are held.
Anyone wanting to bring a libel action against this site would (I suggest) be unlikely to be doing it to make money. They would be doing it to right what they saw as a perceived wrong. And the loser pays both sides' legal costs, even if the award was only £1. There is no way the site owners would want to be exposed to legal costs which could easily bankrupt them. Is there?

I still have a video of Saints 12 Wigan 65 from 1997, in which Saints fans are clearly shown streaming out of Knowsley Road in their hundreds, if not thousands, by half-time.
Everyone has their dark times. Please don't assume that your club and fans are somehow superior to this, and that you can therefore lecture. You can't.
I almost never post on other clubs' message boards, but I think that when it comes to trolling a troll I can happily make an exception to that personal rule.

| OK, I apologise for the comments about Mr Hood that I have subsequently removed. It was wrong of me to make statements that could be damaging and without any substance. I was out of order and a little upset at the way things turned out at the game. There is nothing to suggest that Mr Hood is anything but a fine man, who is 100% honest.
Where I will not change my views though are the ones I stated suggesting were are being taken for mugs. We are.

| I didnt leave early but dont have any problem with those that did. Leaving early seems to me to be the most civilised way of registering a protest at a team's performance. Far better than booing. If you've paid your money why should you feel obliged to stay to the bitter end out of some sense of loyalty or need to prove your credentials as a fan?
The debate reminds me of the time we put 80+ points past Wire at Widerspool at the end of the 2001 (?) season. Nearly all of the Wire fans stayed to the end partly to "send off" players that were retiring. Part of me greatly admired them for doing that, but I couldnt help thinking they'd have done their club a bigger favour if the players had had to leave the pitch on a ground deserted of home fans. The Wolves players seemed to be taking the out of their fans that day (I think it turned out later that some of them were literally ed) and just didnt deserve any appreciation from the fans. Yesterday's performance certainly wasnt in that category, but it was bad enough for fans to feel thay could leave early without being criticised.
However cheering when a player is taken off injured is beyond the pale.

| The thing is, there's a lot of talk of people leaving at half time cos someone saw people walking up the steps away from the stands 5 minutes before half time.
Tbh, I've seen that when we've been winning. It's because people want to get to the toilets, bars, food etc before the half time rush starts. It doesn't mean that people are leaving the ground.
I can understand how people might think that given the score line yesterday. But really, I think it's a case of 2+2= yellow.
The reason I say that is that the area I was in, on the pop side, was virtually as full at kick off as it was at full time.

| I didn't leave early but didn't clap the players off the park and left as the hooter sounded. People can do as they please.
I didn't agree with cheering Sykes substitution either.

| I stayed to the end but didnt want to.
Interesting that this thread was strted by someone not at the game, and then more people who either werent there or left early, commenting on why we might stay or go.
I will not criticise anyone for booing, leaving, stying silent, clapping etc... we all paid our money and that gives us the right to do what we like, within accepted legal boundries.
I stayed, but was vocal in my criticism of the team.
Warrington never had to get out of second gear, as we gifted them 7 tries from errors that I dont expect to see in a kids game on a Sunday morning. Players not getting kicks away on the last tackle, kicking the ball out on the full from a kick off etc...
To say Warrington were brilliant isnt true, as in the second half thier error count was huge, its just that they were 32 points up and could throw the ball around.
there are many threads on here debating the rights and wrongs of the club/coach/ players.
To say our players lack effort is in my opinion, not true. They lack the ability to read a game, and play dumb rugby too often. Warrington dont have players that are that much quicker in a straight line than ours, but the way they linked play through 3 or four pairs of hands to get it to the wing shows that mentally (in terms of playing intelligence) and technically they are better than us.
Sykes and Herbert seem to be taking the brunt of criticism and that is a reflection of what fans see, and in Sykes' case have seen for years. Between them, errors they made contributed to the majority of Warrington's tries. It is my opinon that fans would be more encouraged and encouraging if yoth was given a chance, even if the end result was the same. We have two young halves in Briggs and Southernwood who could fill in in their natural positions, and who will improve. It didnt do us any harm in 98 when we threw Deacon, Pryce and Fielden in did it?? we collectively got over 20 years out of them and lots of medals, rings, and caps.

| I left with 17 minutes to go. I stuck it out that long because inexplicably my 4 and 1 year old daughters were enjoying it.
I'm no longer going to pretend that the £60 season ticket is a good deal. Its probably about right for what we are being served up.
