Maybe a case of going with an established pairing in Herbert/Kearney for a high pressure game rather than putting him in spotlight and possibly shattering his confidence. Got to trust potter with how he brings in the younger players. Still think it's harsh dropping him after one game but can understand logic behind decision.
Think ah van will take raynors wing spot alongside walker. Raynor and one off whitehead/Bateman to drop out |

MP might just think after working with him a few months now, he just isn't good enough. Reports have said he wasn't even shining in the u 20 fixtures. Always a gamble bringing lower league players up. What is he? 23? Not that young in terms of an RL back.
Can MP really risk another performance like that from him on Thursday? Too obvious Sykes would be dropped. |

It's a tough shout with Briggs because I like the shape of the team when Royston is at full back and Kearney at 6. I would have thought he will feature again at some point, maybe the cup game against Halifax?

Briggs was pretty shocking. I'm not surprised he was dropped. I'd bring Platt and Royston back into the centres. I'd think about Walker filling in the backrow for one of the kids.

Who would be at fullback though? I was thinking the same thing till I started writing the team down. With Briggs dropped, Kearney is at SO. With no Sykes it has to be Royston at FB. |
