Is it a bit OTT?
Dear Sir/Madam,
Boots n All last night was very disappointing. I was really looking forward to this program as I thought that it would be an excellent curtain raiser to a fantastic feast of rugby over the weekend. I was led to believe that it was a season preview program (unless I was mistaken). It wasn’t much of a preview for the Bulls, Giants and Hull FC. Unless you don’t think that they deserve a preview that is? I’m not really sure how you could get this program wrong.
As a Bulls fan, the hurried 20 seconds you allowed to comment on the team which has had a new coach, the largest player overhaul in the league and a successful pledge 10,000 scheme was a huge disappointment to say the least. I’m pretty sure that the Giants and Hull FC’s fans will be feeling the same. Every fan in the league is excited about the new Superleague season just as much as the next. Is it difficult to split a 90 minute program into 14 equal sections? I’d have happily foregone some of the features to accommodate this. Did I dream it or did the SKY panel run out of time so that we could watch the Leeds team ‘mucking out’ a farm yard? Surely not.
I very rarely watch Boots n All as I usually end up disappointed. I think you’ve got the format all wrong, which is a shame considering the lack of TV coverage for Rugby League. I’m sure you’ve done your groundwork on what fans would like to see and if this is the outcome, and I’m in the minority, then I apologies. However, everyone I speak to seem to have the same opinion as myself. Superleague on SKY is in serious need of an overhaul and quickly. At the moment I don’t think that too many people would be disappointed if SKY lost the broadcasting rights to a company who would be willing to give it the coverage it deserves.
Regards

| Following your lead, I've sent my own email to sky. I hope others will join me, as the only way sky will know that there's a problem with their broadcast is for the people watching to tell them
[iDear Sir
Yesterday evening, I sat down to watch Boot's n All's season preview show. At least, that's how the show was advertised.
There are 14 teams in Super League, yet 4 of those teams received virtually no coverage as they were squeezed into the final 15 minutes of the show. Hardly an even handed and unbiased preview of the season to come is it?
I cannot honestly believe that the people who made this show didn't know their running time and allocate a fair amount of time to each team. Instead of giving each team in Super League a review on their players in and out etc, we have 10 minutes of a team of rugby players mucking out some stables.
It is clear that the 3 main presenters of Rugby League on Sky have their favourite players and teams and that is shown in the amount of exposure they give to those players and teams. But I do not think this comes across as professional, in fact compared to the Rugby Union review show, Boots N All comes across as amateur hour both in terms of the analysis of the game and the additional reports and features shown.
I really think that the presentation of Rugby League on Sky needs an overhaul or at the very least less bias from the commentators.[/i

| As usual, the Aussies do it much better. They have better informed presenters who are genuinely funny as well, have big name stars on every week being interviwed, and an audience of passionate RL fans. I'm talking about the Footy Show, which we did receive in the Uk on SETANTA before it went bust. I'd rather SKY binned Boots'n'all & bought the Uk rights to the Footy Show. I certainly won't be watching Boot'n'all this season - its a waste of time.
