Personally i cant see it as from seeing him at fullback in 2007/8 i think it was he cant handle been exposed when the opposition broke the line.

I feel Kearney/Royston will play there before Platt but as you say i was doing a decent job at centre whether the keeps it or not i guess is up to him to prove he good enough to keep our other centre,s out.

If the opposition coachs are not sure who is playing where, then they have to consider all the diffferent equations, which means they havea wider area of options to consider when looking to negate them! Also hopefully it will be a chance to interchange some the players during the game as well as from the bench! Tactically I hope this is something MP is considering, because the more variation you can throw at the opposition especially in attack the better to get over the gain line. Although defence will be the key, as Stains have shown a good attack is part of it!

When his confidence was shot his handling under the high ball was poor and his decision making questionable to be kind. Once he moved to he's been less exposed to having to make those kinds of judgement calls and it's shown the strengths in his game. He's hard working, pretty quick once moving, has good tackling skills and is generally a good athlete.
I'm pretty sure it was him in the Halifax game came across the field, took a high ball on the full at pace and ran it back making pretty good yards. If he's now confident doing that I wouldn't have a problem with him at FB. Watching the floodlit 9's at head***ley end of last season he was one of our best players and the rebuilt confidence is good news for both him and the Bulls.

Quote: redtillamdead79 "mick potter saying he's been training as a full back'"

To be fair, Potter said that he has been training at fullback, centre and wing. Which is quite normal for a utility player. That doesn't mean he's going to feature in one particular position, but more likely he's adequate cover for all of them and they want him prepared.

As far as the number goes, they explained that too. They were giving first team squad numbers to him and Walker and it made more sense to have it that way around than Platt as 4 and Walker as 1, when Walker has never played fullback. Mick did suggest that it doesn't mean Platt is first choice fullback, just that it made more sense to give those numbers to those players.

I wouldn't read much into it. If you're looking for suggestions that Platt might be playing fullback, I'd say him playing there in our last game of 2010 is a much stronger indicator than his shirt number. But I still don't necessarily expect him to be our first choice there (although it also wouldn't surprise me now that his confidence is up again).
