Sounds like he was released, and Canberra didn't pay a transfer fee. I expect Bulls released and didn't pay the $200,000 he was reportedly owed.'"
From what Connor has said on Twitter, it seems Orford got his way. Standard release, all monies owed paid.

| ""We're hopeful Matt can secure a release from Bradford and we can come to terms with him by the end of the week," Furner said.
"He would bring a wealth of experience to our backline and we're hoping to have in our system as soon as possible."
Conditional.
Its clearly NOT yet agreed, or if agreed then finalised, from this wording.
Doubtless his manager Sack of Rat Droppings is negotiating through the media yet again?
And this $200k that has been floating around seems to me a pure invention of the Oz media and/or the work of Sack of Rat Droppings? there clearly WILL have been a figure that would have been sought as a transfer fee, and there clearly IS an amount that is payable to the Unspeakable one, doubtless withheld after his confirming he wanted to break his contract. But nowhere has either side formally confirmed any figure (nor are they ever likely to). The other side seems to think itself adept at leaking selectively and "unattributably" to the notoriously-excitable ocker media though.

| Sounds like he's gone without a transfer fee and without being hit in the pocket. So much for contracts. Wonder if he can give Leon a few tips.

| Connor's comment that there is much more to this than meets the eye is the bit that interests me the most. Either way, he seems to believe its over even if Canberra are (probably wisely) being careful with their puiblic statements.
he only has a one year contract with Canberra, it seems. Guess that gives the toerag limited scope to break yet another contract?

Or, he suffers a similar fate to Campese and Canberra can just put him on the garbage pile where he belongs.

I hope Canberra get their pound of flesh out of the toerag, then spit him out when they have no more use for him. I'm sure most Bulls fans will have great sympathy for Canberra if they do indeed do that. Good luck to Canberra.

| With 1 more overseas signing likely then we may hear a few more rumours.
Bulls4champs has heard Roy Asotasi, that would be a good signing imo.
I'd still like an experienced half as neither Briggs or Herbert are proven at this level, but if none are available a big powerful prop would be nice.

From the T and A this morning the 'more to this than meets the eye' bit appears to be that Canberra have unveiled him without the Bulls officially releasing him. Mimms says in the Canberra Times a settlement has been agreed but still no quote from anyone at the Bulls.
