For both our teams' sakes, I hope so. But I'm struggling to be optimistic that it's going to be sorted any time soon.

Cheers for that, that does look pretty positive, like someone actually in the know has tipped off that journo, if the simliar wording appeared in the T&A we'd probably all take it as done.

It makes very little sense to me.

If he only told the club he wasn't coming back in October, then we would have been paying him up to that point, so it can't be wages.

If he told them back in May (or whatever it was), then we wouldn't have to pay him anyway I wouldn't think.

The only thing that makes sense is if it was some sort of year-end bonus, but what the chuff he'd be getting a 200k bonus for at the end of an awful season that he didn't play in half of, I struggle to think.

Can only assume we stopped paying him when it became apparent he was never coming back circa July or that the contract was loaded towards bonuses and image rights payments which were payable each November for the term of the contract.

I've posted before a quite plausible scenario. I think people who know me know I don't normally go in for wild speculation.

There are perfectly good reasons why the unspeakable one could be due money and at the same time totally in accordance with his contractual arrangements, including timing. I doubt many people - including the club? - ever realistically expected a significant transfer fee. What people DID want to see was the unspeakable One suffering financially for screwing us over.

As long as the club gets some benefit from his Toeragship stuffing off, I don't care whether its from another club or out of his own pocket as personal compo for him seeking to breach his contract.

It this turns out as expected. Awful Loses out, his Agent Loses out, the only way the Bulls lose out is in the fact they couldn't get a replacement because of the drawn out issues.
Mick Potter will realise it may be a weakness this coming season but I expect he will actually have a plan B and C as well to help counteract it(Must be rubbing off from Peter Hood with his plans ABCDEF.............. for Odasl)
This should be over by Xmas so now the focus should be on pre season leading up to the Millenium. COYB's

Ooops I just frightend meself!

The operation on his shoulder was the end of May/early june. There is no way any club would/could stop someones wages whilst they are recovering from an injury caused playing for that club. He wouldn't really be able to do anything with that shoulder for at least 6/52 and the earliest he would be into reasonable contact training would be another 6/52 after that which would take us up to late Aug/early Sept which is when our season ended which is why there was no point him coming back. Therefore wages are not what is outstanding and it must be other payments built into the contract. Which Adey has already covered a couple of pages back. $AU200k does seem a little steep though...

ATEOTD it's only a claim in a paper. It doesn't make it so.
