Quote: Gurus_Beard "Given your "form", evidently not.
My pleasure. Works in tandem with your irony and similar inability to address a previous point and respond with a mind-blowing "Wow".
But then you will know more than GH obviously, who made the appointment to very clearly place his club in eternal decline. Because he does things like that ya see. Nor will he have consulted the likes of Peacock, Sinfield or Senior regarding Maccas coaching. No, he just wouldn't do that. He should have listened to an internet forum moderator. Because that's where it's really at.'"
GH obviously wouldn't make a decision to deliberately derail his own club but everyone makes mistakes at some stage. Similarly, Peacock, Sinfield and Senior may speak highly of Brian McDermott's coaching ability but, as an example, Steve McNamara received similar plaudits when he took over from Brian Noble. In fact, some senior players still stand right behind McNamara as a coach despite his record at Bradford. It's good to listen to your players but sometimes their views can be clouded by other factors (maybe the player feeling they 'owe' the coach something for a specific role in their development) and somethimes they can just be wrong.
Personally I feel Brian Mac will do alright at Leeds but it's never a simple case of fact and fiction. A number of factors will arise to determine his relative success or failure. But cherry-picking facts to suit your argument for McDermott while ignoring the undeniable positive abilities possessed by Mick Potter is a little disingenuous. Both have pros and cons as coaches and both should go fine with their respective clubs this season.
