I spoke with a senior person on the Bradford Bulls board earlier today in realtion to another matter. At the end of the conversation I asked what was the situation with Leon.
Intresting reply was that although he's still in contract they are looking with it. The words were would we like him in our team, yes we would.. would fans want him in our team , yes they would....
Left it on a note of he's still persuing it however as mentioned the matter of him not being OOC ..

I was sure it would be. Interesting to see what it actually is then.

Not trying to read too much into it, but Connor's wording is often an indication. He's called it "interesting" news, rather than good news. Or maybe I'm reading far too much into that

Also, forgot that George Burgess to Souths is still in the equation isn't it - could be something official on that......

In a way, it would be nice if that was the news. At least then we'd know for certain before the fans on this forum go ahead and sponsor George. That way the money could go to sponsor a different player without the worry he's about to jump ship.

I do quite like how news comes out this way. It creates a little bit of buzz around it, rather than it just suddenly appearing on a website.

Will just have to remember to check the website when I get up tomorrow morning!

I reckon that one of the "interesting" stories will have something to do with Danny Sculthorpe. It's something that seems to be getting mentioned in a few places, and I think the club or Danny will give some kind of update.

Connor has added that in addition to the main story, there is also a double spread on Chev Walker - so it's unlikely to be a "random squad player goes to Nando's" story.

just impression i'm getting reading the oz news reports on him. I've got impression he views a year over here as a necessary evil to allow him to continue his NRL career and not something he'd have chosen to do if he wasnt being de-registered in NRL.
Could actually work in our favour. If saints decide to play soliola in back row then their light in . They may go down route of getting monaghan for a year until jamie lyon comes off contract at manly next year. As im pretty certain they are very close to cap (was rumoured they werent going to be able to retain gardner due to cap for a while) they'd almost certainly have to release someone to accomodate monaghan. So they could take view that getting a fee for leon and giving one of youngsters a shot at standoff now, instead of losing leon for free next year, and getting monaghan to strengthen is good business.

suspect tomorrow and fridays news will be player/players going out on dual code deals and an update on either sculthorpe (who was significantly overlooked in todays injury update) or orford.

If he ran that as a story, there'd never be enough room in the paper for other local news.

well one off the stories is jct being confirmed as main sponsor as adey linked in 2011 shirt thread. think someone cocked up at t&a again and put story online early

I'm guessing the interesting news is probably the Sculthorpe news which the club has already put on.
