| We should be a bit ambitious and try go for Gareth Widdop to play 6. He might be a bit unsettled at the Storm with all the goings on there. He wont count on the quota, and has already said he would like to play in the Super League, plus Bradford have first dibs on him, if were interested. Once he has played in the 4 Nations with all the England boys he might be tempted.

| Since when has Widdop been a 6? Sounds like your wanting to go with the plan as Kearney and Sykes. I have a feeling we might be ok for fullbacks.

Now this, I remember. It was a Boots n all just after the France international when the game was being discussed. One of the commentators threw in a line about Widdup & Tomkins playing 1 & 6 but we should not be surprised if in the next game they play 6 & 1 as their respective club coaches see Tomkins long term position as 1 and Widdup being 6.

| Ah, Boots n all. If it was said on there then it must be true. Being groomed to play in a position doesn't mean they're accomplished. Which is what we need. Seem to remember something being said about Kearney able to play stand off as well as fullback. We all took that in too.

| Quote DILLIGAF="DILLIGAF"The only thing I can think of here is Steve Crossley's new contract.
It's been suggested in more than one place that no new signing announcements this week, so it's not that. The only players remaining out of contract (I think) are Worrincy, Crossley & Reardon? I wouldn't think Connor would call it good news to announce a player leaving (i.e. Reardon off to wherever), so I would assume it's a new contract for either Crossley or Worrincy, or it's not related to player recruitment/retention.'"
Either crossley or o'brien (or both) re-signing is my guess for on field. Off field maybe a new sponsorhip deal?

| Connor has now said that the good news this week is regarding contract extensions. (Note the plural here)

whitehead and addy would be the two most obvious ones I guess. (is it too much to hope for kearney/l'estrange as well though? ).

| Steve Crossley walked past the window earlier while I was getting my hair cut. When I saw him, I was hoping he was coming in so I could ask him about his contract, but sadly he walked past. Almost asked the barber to hang on a mo while I just pop outside and ask him

| Any news even if good news about Matt Orford is going to stop speculation about Matt Orford until he is at Tong training centre getting ready for the new season.
