Not sure about outing Halley, look what happened when we loaned him out last time, his problem this year has been Kearney being better at FB and not getting enough time on the wing. IMO Platt should get aleast a year in the centres and if we can keep Menzies he will Platt will have someone to learn from. Hopefully alot of the youngsters will be pushing for places come the beginning of next season.

Back on the subject of Sharp, I wouldn't be disappointed with the signing but I wouldn't be thrilled either. He definitely has some potential though, so may be worth a punt. He's certainly better than Reardon and I wouldn't say there's much between him and Sheriffe at the moment (but that will probably change one way or another). As I said before, with the lack of options available, I don't think he's a bad one. However if he wants to play centre or fullback, I'm not sure he's the right signing. We have Platt, Menzies and don't know Nero's status yet. Wardle needs more game time and he may make a decent player. Not to mention Crookes, albeit I don't particularly rate him. And we all know we have too many fullbacks as it is. Wingers, we most definitely need. Halley is our only good one IMO.

I tend to agree with that. He's been the least effective of the players coming in last year (forgetting Scully ) to my mind and, certainly earlier in the season, made to many mistakes, mainly dropped balls.

It's hard to be totally objective about individual ins and outs though. Without the whole picture of what the squad we are going to finish up with, it's pretty impossible to gauge what effect any deal, in or out, is going to have.
