Quote Bit_of_bully="Bit_of_bully"No matter what source it comes from, is it all not just rumours?
For example, if player A was to tell player B who was then to tell me would you class that as a good source or merely a rumour? '"
Oh, pack it in, now. If I claimed Hood had assured me that Dale Winton was our next coach, that is not a rumour, it is a factual report of a specific conversation with a specific individual who is clearly in a position to know. Of course, I could be lying about what Hood said, and of course, Hood could be lying to me. Neither of which makes the factual account a "rumour". It may be the truth, or it may be a lie, but it is ridiculous to call it a "rumour". It is a "report", which is capable of being checked.
If however I don't divulge my source, then it is neither a rumour nor a good source. It may be to you, but as we don't know your alleged source nor, in this case, even what your alleged source said, then it is just one more of millions of internet claims made daily by folk who claim to be "in the know", but of whom 99.9% are, as you know, lying. That still leaves a small proportion who might be telling the truth, but nobody will ever believe them, cos even if something they claimed to "know" comes to pass, it could easily just have been a lucky guess and, in the majority of cases, was.
The only avenue for someone wanting to leak info without disclosing sources is to gain a reputation for consistently being right.

Well, I checked our squad and I can't see we have any players called either 'A' or 'B', so back into the "pointless claims" drawer you go. And really, if the best you can do is to say "it will NOT be Bellamy" then I wouldn't bother. Anyone could guess that, about any coach on the planet, and by definition the vast majority of them will be right.
