| Now, after reading that, I think Macca's waited this long to talk Orford round into captaining the side. I'd have no complaints about Orford getting it really, he's a natural leader and a great captain.

think its more a case of waiting for orford to get here and giving him a couple of weeks with the group before announcing anything, rather than announcing it as a fait accomplit and potentially putting other players noses out of joint. Can't really see it being anyone other than ox, with either lynch or langley as club captain announced just before or just after leeds friendly at a guess.

| Just listened to the Matt Orford interview on BBC Sport and when asked about the captaincy he didn't decline it or anything, he just said it would be a great honour to captain a club but he says you have to earn respect from the players first. With the massive shake up we have had a wouldnt see it been a problem. Orford for captain and Langley for club captain.

| Although Lynch or Langley would probably make a decent captain, they ain't play makers and they both seem to be the sort who lead by example without really saying much. Thats why i'd have Orford, who has a bit of a gob and can dictate a games!

| I will genuinely be interetsed in how this pans out; but can't see it working on a match by match basis. In a high pressure situation like this players need clear leadership. I would wager that, injuries permitting, a captain has emerged by the latter half of the season & they adopt that role in every game.

| I believe the team captain will be Orford with Langers as club captain. My reason is that they were sat left and right of McNamara. The only other thing I can think of is that we are going to do a Wigan - Leadership team, please no! Just that Orford, Menzies, Langley and Lynch are the 4 sat closest to the coach at the middle

| As soon as Orford signed there was only ever going to be one captain.

| Personally I can't see Lynch being captain, simply because he doesn't spend enough time on the pitch.
As to who is the better choice between Ox and Langley, then it has to be Ox. So unless Langers has expressed a particular interest in being skipper then for me the descision is simples.
