| Quote Roofaldo="Roofaldo"it's also very strange that the story is only being covered by the aussie press. there's no links to english news sources in any of this.
tbh, it sounds like we've kinda screwed Walker over by dangling the carrot of a fat contract over him and then yanking it away. but i'd still feel better to hear it from the club that there's no contract and we're not going to miss out on Orford'"
Don't know about the content of your post matey BUT the photo is so very cool "man" - shows my idol in his prime
The Beatles were the greatest Band of all time & George Harrison was simply the best. Sorry Roofy ... what was your pont ??

| as I said yesterday, when the comments from walkers manager first appeared in oz press, I suspected walker was setting up to do us for breach of contract. A lot will depend on whether a contract was signed or not and by both parties or just one. Would be an absolute disaster PR wise for club if orford didnt come and cant see walker ever playing in a bulls shirt so I suspect worse case would be a settlement with walker ( say one years wages at rate we offered him or us topping up whatever he gets from crusaders to the same level). If we havent signed our side of the contract then I'd suggest he hasnt got a leg to stand on. Really we can only speculate until we see clubs side of story.
absolute worst case we end up with a player who would be massively unpopular, and having already released deacon were forced to buy brough from wakefield. having shown how much we were prepared to pay orford wakey will hold us to ransom. slight worry is that RFL might prefer this course of action as it would get wakefield out of their financial difficulties and avoid another PR mess.

| why are they specifically seeking to block Orford's signing? If they have a contract and want Walker to come to Bradford why don't they just insist we honour the contract and sort out the details ourselves? Is this bloke trying to bag Orford on behalf of another club and hoping to use a half baked never-was contract to pursuade the rfl to refuse his bulls contract? If walker had a contract since august them wouldn't he have applied for his visa at the same time as the other aussies and by now be in the advanced stages of moving to the UK? Just a thought

the orginal reports in oz press yesterday said walker was expecting a visa in next week or two which would tie up with timescales of l'estrange and kearney tbf.

| Accepting we don't have the full facts at present, but also knowing our past history with contracts - therefore hoping we could not screw things up again, also having read FA's thoughts "reading between the lines", I think the likelihood is that we will end up legally in the clear but morally we will look a bit dirtied by this episode

This article contains a few more quotes from Walker's agent about what their intentions are.
Quote Chris Walker either fulfils his agreement with the Bulls or we work out an agreed severance package and the parties go their separate ways."Chris Walker either fulfils his agreement with the Bulls or we work out an agreed severance package and the parties go their separate ways."
It is unclear if the Bulls registered Walker's contract with the Rugby Football League.
"If they have gone and received Chris's signed contract and not registered it with the RFL because they are hedging their bets and trying to negotiate with Matt Orford then A, it is unethical and B, it reflects really poorly on the Bradford Bulls," said Orr.'"
The last paragraph strikes an accord with what Highlander has just said about how legally we may end up in the clear but morally we will look a bit poor.

| We've been stiffed by player agents plenty of times in the past when we've had similar understandings with players and found they've gone elsewhere. I remember plenty of hot air but nothing came of it. I suspect the boot's on the other foot this time, at least I hope so.

| Either way it's a crap situation and has really taken the shine off the Orford signing. If it's going legal it'll drag itself out and does that mean the RFL refuse to accept Orford's registration until its sorted?

| Walker's agent is making a lot of noise but I really wonder whether it's all hot air.
