| I agree. I get that he wanted to get back into Super League but things haven't worked out for him at KR. He would have been better staying with us and when a guaranteed FB spot opened up he could have left and walked straight into a Super League team.
My money would be on him going to Featherstone if they go up next year.

| Possibly would have him back but he'd be a big earner and is quite injury prone. I too prefer Holmes in at halfback but I'd be reluctant to spend big on Walker at the expense of every other area. It's a fine balancing act. It does look like HKR are after a better quality of player with the likes of May and Hiku coming in. I can see him going to the promoted side or somewhere like Wakey or Cas.

| Walker is an interesting one as he is no doubt a quality player that when fully fit would be a great addition for any squad... SL included. However, he just seems to be one of those players who is prone to injuries and therefore I don't see him getting a gig at anyone other than a lower end SL team or upper Championship one.
I'm presuming that he had got himself a FT job alongside his Bulls contract so also presume he gave it up to take on the HKR opportunity? Is that still an option or does he now need a FT offer?
I'd say he was worth a gamble, but I wouldn't want there to be a SL release clause again. You are either committed or you are not. The timing of his departure was less than ideal and I don't think we need to put ourselves in that position again.
Still think someone like Matty Marsh, Jamie Shaul (or even Pickersgill has been mentioned by others) would be a better opton.

| If we do have him back, then he needs to fully commit - by which I mean with a contract that doesn't have some sort of "I'll be off to any SL club that shows interest in a heartbeat" clause

| I must have missed his stand out games in RAB, which is entirely possible as I cannot make every game nowadays. But he looked fairly ordinary in the games I saw, I would prefer to see what other options are available.
He obviously feels he deserves to be in SL and will likely jump at the first sniff of interest, which is fair enough but I'd rather we had somebody who can commit to the full season

| Agree with most comments, his quality is there to see but his desire to play in super league and his injury history, I think we should find an alternative.

| It might be irrelevant anyway with his agent saying he will be a super league player next year but I’d personally avoid bringing him back.
No doubt a top quality player but I don’t think he’s tough enough for the championship. Too expensive and sadly a time bomb for injuries so we’d need quality cover. He’s the type of player that will look unreal on a nice warm dry June day vs Dewsbury but early season away to Barrow is a different story and we need players that dig in rather than show ponies of the past.
Interesting comments from Willie Peters that’s it was always a short term deal with no option to stay at KR and both parties knew that. Obviously he wanted a shot at super league again which is fair enough but it was a risk which probably hasn’t paid off.
Good luck to the lad
