| Easily has the agression and skill set to be a solid player in the NRL, IF, he can be professional whilst he is there, which based on his previous, I very much doubt.

Off Field issues aside I think he'll need to work hard on his game to get into an NRL 17, he gives away penalties for fun for starters

| I don't see a role for him in an NRL side to be honest, has the aggression but not the size or skill to make a go of it in any position for me.

I think it's harsh to say he doesnt have the skill , He's not bad at 9

He's not consistent enough at 9, though. He always has two or three dreadful decisions or wayward passes in him. I think he found his best position in the back row, where he could use his aggression and workrate without the burden of a decision-making role. He still gives away far too many penalties, though, often in the most ridiculous of circumstances. Aus might be good for him, actually. Over here you can have a flaw like that and get away with it. Over there he'll sink like a stone if he doesn't sort it out. That threat of failure might help to mature him as a player.

This is pretty much a myth.
In 2011 season he conceed just 1 more penalty than James Graham and 2 more than James Roby, and wasnt in the top 50 players in Sl for conceeding penalties.
Unlike i may add players like Kevin Sinfield, Sean O'Loughlin, Ben Westwood, Lee Gilmour and Ryan Hoffman
Scott is for me a player with bags of natural talent, but who has shown a lack of maturity on and off the pitch. This has lead to him getting in spots of bother off the pitch, and putting in some inconsistent performances on the pitch. When he is on his game however he is a top class hooker, its just that he will have 1 good game then two or three average games and then a shocker or two.
If he can iron that aspect of his game out down under, then i think he could regain his place in the international setup.
If he however goes to Aus and hits the beer and lives upto his wild child reputation, then he wont last very long.

| why do you act like the NRL is some league of gods... some absolutely awful Super League players are going well in NRL, including Glenn Hall who was dreadful at Bradford yet is a crucial back rower for the Cowboys these days. admittedly it is MUCH higher intensity than Super League as expected but it's not impossible for the likes of Moore to succeed. just has to get his head down which will be easier away from the bad influences he seems to have here. best of luck to him

Agree.
The NRL has some genuine superstar players, but we do have a tendancy in the UK to dismiss the talent within the UK game.
Was listening to an Australian radio interview the other week in which ex wire centre Matt King commented that there were lots of very good players in SL, and i seem to recall him also saying we had the talent to be able to defeat Australia.
The main difference with the NRL is that there is more depth of talent, and consequently a greater week to week intensity.
In the past pre SL we got to compare our best players to theirs, as many had summer stints down under. As a result the likes of Andy Gregory, Kevin Ward, Ellery Hanley, Tony Myler and Gary Schofield enhanced their reputations in the UK. Now though British fans tend to treat everything out of Australia as god like, with the players from the UK being rubbish.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

| There are just as many if not more ' numptys ' in the NRL as in SL, if Scott gets it together on the pitch he stands a decent chance at making it work

He's certainly capable of good things but if he hasn't been able to perform on a consistent basis in SL then I just don't see how he will be able to do it in a much better competition. I would love to be proven wrong mind.
