| I think Mike should be and will be the final judge of what he does for a living and who he is employed by. Saints have been lucky to keep him the past few years as other offers have come in.
I would wish Mike very well if he does go to the RFL, it will indeed be Saints loss but Rugby League as a whole's gain.
Mike, do whats right for you mate.

The way i see it is that RFL have been impressed with Rushie and asked Saints if they could approach him to discuss if he was interested in going to RFL. Saints told the RFL to take a running jump.
If Rushie himself applied for job and got it, then all he needs do is hand in his resignation at Saints and go to the RFL.
Whats certainly the case is that an in demand Rushie should be able to get a nice boost to his salary, from either Saints or the RFL.

Unless he is on a 'fixed-term' contract, although that is unlikely in his position.

Even on a fixed term contract you can resign its just that the terms of resignation are normally stricter eg giving a 3 month notice period or having to buy yourself out of the contract.

I agree that he is going a great job and has to get a lot of credit for what is going right at the club.
On the other side he is doing a very good job for Saints and the RFL where he is. Surely a lot of the young players coming through are going to be playing for England so how does having him in an admin role benefit the RFL?
We are better offering him a better contract and the head coaches job after Potter goes to the NRL.

| It should ensure he gets a pay rise if nothing else.
His contract will work the same way as a head coach's does. Saints would need to be compensated were he to leave.

| Well, I hope he doesn't go. He's been excellent for Saints and for the young players that progress through our system.
I do wish the RFL would keep their poaching hands off!
