Huddersfield are a fine team and I suspect it won't be them making an early exit from the playoffs. Wind your neck in, you come across as so parochial and childish.

Its banter. I know you don't have sense of humour and love the boring negative things in life but some like a little friendly banter.
I suggest you wind your neck in.

| I've been thinking about this a little more today. The half backs are so key it's unreal.
In that first half if there was no brough (forget brown) Hudds would not have scored. He made the banana kick which gave them the set of six for the first try and the 2nd one was all him.
We had none of that cutting edge, possesion and territory wise I bet it was pretty even, but there was nothing there to challenge the huddersfield defence.

It wasn't just the halfbacks. We had no grunt up front either. We desperately needed that against a pack the size of Huddersfield. I think they just make big blokes in Huddersfield. We looked about 12 years old by comparison!

| The lack of half backs was key for us but having no Flannery, Moore, Clough and Wilkin up front affected us. The biggest loss was Puletua. He's a massive player for us and then to lose Perry during the game left us with very little.

Where have I said hudds ain't a fine team?
If you check back through all my posts you'll find that i tipped hudds as one of the main teams to fight for the grand final and I also said I think they play good rugby.

You make more derogatory comments than that about Saints on a weekly basis. I agree that it's parochial and childish BTW.

| Quote: Run leroy , run ! "Yes.
Honestly yes.
Your defence was holey and we won the ptb with the forwards.'" Hudds are a quality side and [icould[/i come up with a result if both teams had their full compliment out.
You did get a lot of space around the PTB, but for me that mainly came after you'd worn us down.
Were I think you beat us was showing more power, just on the wider edge of the ruck, managing little busts and offloads which made us have to work harder in defence from the outset and wore us out.
Although we had a bit of luck when we spread it wide to the wing, we didn't test all areas of the defence, it was either crash it up with 1st receiver or spread it right to the wing, often before we'd made ourselves any space. That shows the limitation of our half backs compared to that of Hudds - Brown and Brough were probing across the park, dragging our defence here and there and wearing us out. When we had the ball, it was alot easier for them to organise against, and therefore stay fresher.
We were only 12-6 down at one point despite really being under the cosh, there may not hae been a big gap in the scoreline, but in terms of what it had taken from our energy levels we were way behind, this showed later when Hudds had that purple patch.

| Agree with you offside monkey. Very fair summary.
Look forward to the re-match.
On a totally different angle, in the programme gilly was saying we - giants - are only SL club to have a full time injury rehab coach. Me thinks you guys could do with 1 too......or 2 or 3 even

Not sure he's the man. More like McManus and the directors, since they hold the purse strings!

| Gillys comments were interesting and sensible. Try and read the full interview in the programme. He was using this an example of how 'professional' and forward looking giants were, and other players such as Mason and ralieigh have mentioned it in previous interviews too.
In a high contact sport like ours, would seem like an obvious job position (every NFL team has them) and what surprised me in the gilly interview was I just assumed all teams would have one. Surely getting players back from injury quicker is a big deal...

Not all clubs will be in a position to afford one. Saints, for example, have had a new stadium to fund. That has to take priority just now. But after three seasons of injury problems, especially the problems this season, it may be that once we're installed in our new pad, such a position might be added to the staff.
