| Excellent win in awful conditions. Couldn't have asked for more.
Saints are picking up momentum at just the right time.

At last, been waiting for that combination all season.

Definitely. That combination needs to be tried again and given a chance to work if you ask me, we could have found that round peg that we have been searching for since the Lance signing was announced.

In what way? Stuck 10 men behind the ball and tried to score from corners?

No, we liked to use our feet tonight. I think we scored all our tries off kicks.

All except the Hohaia try from close range if I remember correctly.

| I wouldn't be doing cartwheels about tonight's performance, but we defended very well I thought again. We gifted them far too much position through daft penalties or individual errors.
Although they throw the ball around a lot they don't have a lot of penetration up front for me, so will never be a top contender.
Conditions were shocking!

Salford ain't great but they showed in magic weekend they can hurt you and the conditions evened it out.
I thought is was good win but not great performance. I'd have took it before the game.

Oh I agree, but they don't seem to have a good set of forwards to be a top 8 team and outside of Smith, Holdsworth, Pattern and Moon they are very average.
With 3/4 of those players mentioned rumoured to be moving on I can't see them doing much at all next season.

Thats right, how could you forget the shining light in his expansive and defense splitting performance?
To be fair I thought he went well at 9 when he switched.

I think pattern got another year in him.
Joel moon has impressed this year, he's been very good signing. He's a centre we could do with, he's a strike centre.

| Geez, our halfbacks were poor tonight. The team totally changed when Gaskell came on. Gasky may make his mistakes and sometimes his kicks don't come off, but I am happy to take all that for all the good stuff he does. He seemed to be a direct replacement for Jones, whose try incidentally should never have been given. At the match I didn't think he'd got it down and watching it back on Sky tonight he didn't. He dropped it.
We were in trouble in the first half as Salford totally dominated us in every respect. It was only because they messed up two clear opportunities (both down the Jones/Meli side) that the scoreline was so close at halftime. (That and the awarding of the Jones try that wasn't!) We were very lucky. However, once Gaskell had come on he caused mayhem with his kicking and pace, and we were able to finish off in style.
The wind was horrendous. One of Makinson's goal kicking attempts blew backwards! Gaskell did a good job with the kicking and it's nice to know he has that string to his bow too. Three goal kickers on the pitch at once. Just a few years ago we had to put up with only Longy and his hit and miss efforts!
Shenton had an excellent game tonight btw.

The halfbacks was poor, that's the worst I've seen lomax play in a while. Lance was just lance.
I like jones the more I see him.
