Foster is never a winger and never has been. I've watched him from being a 16 year old. He was centre to Shaun Ainscough for England v Australia and they both looked promising.
LOOKED being the operative word, Championship rugby beckons.

| He's a bit lightweight, took a ball from dummy half tonight, one of the few times we were under our sticks, took it at speed, ran sideways for 30m, got smashed and did well not to get put in our own goal area.

| You lot can have Jamie Foster back if you'll scrub Willie Manu's signature out.

He's a better goal kicker, yes, a better winger no. Did Foster manage to run a metre forward tonight when returning the ball?'"
Either use the word or don't. If the swear filter blocks it you can't use it, but please don't dodge the filter.

Don't get me wrong - I don't think either Foster or Makinson is top class or anywhere near it nor ever will be - but with the appalling standard of 3/4s in SL at the moment both easily have the makings of middle-to-top half of the table SL players. Either would have to decline substantially to end up in the Championship and you're just being silly. Maybe they'd both become world beaters if they joined Wigan instead, eh?

| I,m no sure if the club development is at fault when they transition to the superleague team. We always seem to be conservative and push the young ones on the wing, is this to reduce risk.
Foster spent quite a while at centre, I,m sure Makinson was centre also, same goes for Swift correct me if I,m wrong but did he not start out at stand off and has ended up on the wing. We could say the one gamble is with Lomax trying to make him a scrum half.
Only Josh Jones looks in a natural position and is developing OK in defense and attack, are we handling the younger players in the correct manner. Maybe Mr Brown has better options for them.

| Just curious, if Foster plays for Hull in the play-offs would that then prevent him playing for us in the competition in the unlikely event that the need arises.
If he does play for them would we allow him to play against us??

It was in the paper last week that he is playing for Hull in the play offs, but will not be allowed to play against us.
It looks he's very much been frozen out by Saints, I can't see him in a Saints shirt again.

I think your probably right , he doesn't seem like the type of player Brown has gone for at Hudds , maybe Hull will keep him

| I was impressed by Foster tonight he run the ball back well and showed a bit of pace for his try. I still can't see were he can fit in at Saints though.

Its comments like that that will make those who didnt watch the game think that Foster was to blame for Earls try. The reality was the break and try were scored through the middle of the pitch nowhere near Foster.
Personally thought JF had a really good game, he was strong returning the ball and two or three times beat the Huddersfield winger George on the outside.
The 80 metre try Foster scored was brilliant and showed good pace, ably assisted by Turner who was a real handful with ball in hand.
Manu was a beast and deservedly got the MOM

Spot on. He also took a great catch in the air in the middle of traffic. In addition to that there were a couple of occasions when he showed how good he is at reading the game with his positioning to pick up the ball by slipping into the fullback role.
In short h looked a lot like the Foster of old. It was good to see. I hope he can build on that when Hull play Warrington.
