Has that been confirmed then? It would be a horrible way to leave the ground. Why not Friday?

According to RedVee the club are looking into a friendly at Christmas but apparently Taylor Wimpey will already have moved in to some part of the ground.

Bloody stupid. For me, the last game is Friday, regardless of what dumb stuff the club might be thinking of.

| We could always take a slab of concrete/seat with us to ensure they couldn't possibly do it. I was planning on taking several sentimental objects from the ground with me anyway.

I've got my eye on the big screen. I reckon it could be the touch the front room needs to finish it off.

I thought Syd was having that for his mansion. He'll not be pleased if you nick that from under his nose.

| After friday that should be it for rugby league at Knowsley Road. Would have thought the u21 grand final would have been the ideal curtain raiser, (but thats on saturday). Followed by a playoff game that will have forever live in the mind.
Certainly a friendly isnt the way to leave this great stadium.

I thought Syd was taking the stansion in front of him for his 'Entertainment Room', to recreate the atmosphere of KR.

Or even worse, a friendly that might go ahead or might not, meaning that you might be looking forward to the last ever game at Knowsley Road only to find that it actually happened three months ago.
You have to hand it to the club, they find new and spectacular ways of fooking everything up each and every year, but this one really is the king of them all

| After Friday all I will have is memories for the last time on Friday I will take a final walk around before the game. To see the spot on the wall opposite the pop side where my dad used to push me into to watch the likes of Bishop, Murphy Watson, Killeen and of course Vol. Then I'll have a quick gander on the pop side where all our family used to congregate... my dad and his brothers, myself and a couple of cousins. Sadly there are only two of us left so there will be certainly time on Friday to reflect on the past and no doubt my dad and uncles will be up there watching and joining in with "Oh when the saints!"
Bloody hell I will have to bring a box of kleenex with me !

They have been made aware of it pal. This was sent to the club.

That along with a 50 person deep thread on the discussion board with each and every one of them pleading with them not to do it.
It cut no ice!

| Quote: Saddened! "I'm going to be quite emotional for me. Knowsley Road has been one of the only constants in my life, it's been there, unmoving for as long as I have memories. I remember walking into Knowsley Road for my first ever rugby league game, being so, so excited that my Dad finally said I could go with him. I remember him carrying me out of the same game, so strong like he was made of iron. I can remember when I was a little bigger running around behind the away end at Knowsley Road with the friends I'd taken to the game, I remember kicking the cone style hats off the policemen's head in the corner when they had a seat there. I remember having my first kiss there, a girl from St Helens called Hayley. I remember going to the games against Warrington fearing that elusive defeat would finally happen and I would be slaughtered in school, I remember the delight in it never materialising. I remember being there for my Dad's first heart attack, being so scared. I remember him walking back to the town centre for my Mum to pick us up before he collapsed. I remember his first game back after that, being so relieved that he could still go. I remember cursing him as I dragged him drunk back to Morrisons for our lift home one time, I remember him carrying me back when I'd had too many during my teenage years. He's had three heart attacks since and yet he's made all but a handful of the games there. I remember all the chats we had there, about leaving primary school, GCSE's college, uni, work, girls, having my first son. I remember us going and seeing my Dad cry as he watched me carrying my son back to the car, sound asleep, after his first game.
The worst thing about Friday is that my Dad isn't going to be able to come. He's in hospital and his health is deteriorating fast, so the passing of one of the constants in my life is likely to closely coincide with that of another.
I hope we don't lose.'"
I am not a emotional person but that does bring a tear to my eye. I wish your father all the best at this time.
