20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

| Just saw Lee Briers at the lights in his Lamborghini and he said there's no way they're over, then I saw Morley on Carr Mill Dam on his speedboat and he said the same.

Maybe someone forgot to tell Melbourne Storm's players that came through the set up and from the Norths Devils that they shouldn't be earning top wage.'"
I don't think anyone is saying top players aren't on top money if they've come through the ranks, but they do tend to be cheaper than bought in talent at the top of their game. In our squad only a few will be on top money, the likes of Cunningham and Wellens are in the twilight of their careers and have signed reduced contracts, the likes of Eastmond and other youngsters are on the way up and aren't yet on their biggest deals. I reckon Eastmond is on less than Myler, and Morley is on more than Cunningham, for example.
As for the discussion on Warrington's youth system, it's obvious that they are only just starting to develop it, isn't it only a year or two ago they had no U18s or something similar (I seem to remember that we stuffed them in a game and their coach stated there was a major age difference)? It takes years to develop a youth system, we are only just really getting a number of good youngsters through. I don't see what the problem is, at least they are starting to do it.

| They even paid for 2 young Wales lads to move to Warrington from Wales. Setting up their family with good money (Rhys and Ben Evans).

Good on them.
I hope both lads become top class players, it's called rewarding investment.
Why didn't Saints (or Wigan) do it. Wigan took Mossop down from Cumbria, and hopefully we'll see a few more of his standard at Wigan.

Why dont many other clubs do it ? Simple really.
125k plus house , plus two salaries = ALOT of pennies spent on two 16 year old lads.

| Saints have also done it with Greg Richards. We've signedhim from Barrow. However like i've stated he travels down to St Helens by car. We dont splash out on houses etc... which counts on the salary cap.

Not in this case it doesn't does it?
It's Wires money to risk (invest). What if they paid for the kids to go on tour to Australia every couple of years as an enticement to sign. Is that o.k.

Not when it's the parents recieving the benefit aswell. It all might be in order, however you asked why dont Saints do it ?
Because not many clubs can afford too. Warrington have changed the whole lifestyle of the Evans family. They moved their mother to the North West (leaving her job behind) do you think she's on the dole ? i doubt it. Warrington will be feeding that household.

Which, if true, would serve as an example to all those who believe the cap to be water tight. Any club could do that with any player and their family.

But she would have found (or been found) a new job, not necessarily employed by Warrington. Many people move when their partners get new jobs.
Do you think it's wrong for Warrington to invest THEIR money in two young players. What happens if they don't make it?
Didn't Saints provide houses for Dominic Feau'nati and Maurie Fa'asavalu at the time there was a 20:20 rule?
If they didn't how did they afford houses in Ecccleston on £20K per year?

Dom ate children to cut down on food bills and Maurie probably shared with someone.
