Am i the only one who is really happy at Sean Long leaving ?

The guy is finished! As been for two years and another 1 year plus would of crippled us as a club.

Time to move on folks. Good move by Saints, good move by Sean but a poor movy by Hull imo!

All the best to Longy - he's been an awesome servant to the club and has given us his best years just like Hanley and Gregory did for Wigan before they were offloaded.

With the salary high salary he probably commanded retaining a player who would have been 35 by the time his contract ended would have been counter productive to the youngsters coming through.

Now this is settled we need to look to give Eastmond alot more gametime at 7 imo

got to say with acception of st pete, you saint fans deserve a pat on the back over longys exit to us, took it in good taste, he`s been great for saints and hopefully great to us, wish we could get him to us now though, fancy a mid season swap for thorman???????

My thoughts exactly. TBH I think Sean has done very very well to get a 2 year deal at what is a very big club in Hull (who already have 2 halfbacks on contract ....)

If Hull have 2 halfbacks, i'm yet to see them! That's our problem and the reason why we have probably rushed in here. Horney is miles better at FB and Thorman is quite simply finished. Longs kicking game will be a massive plus for us but not sure about him leading us round the park at 33. We'll see.

Dunno if it's been posted, from what i've been told Brough will be Longs replacement

I think this is probably the best outcome for Saints, although i would have liked him to sign a 1 year deal, with a view to signing another season if hes playing well enough. Also, its probably the best move for Longy, as it guarantees him 2 years no matter how poor hes playing and he has to think about his future, and obviously 2 years worth of money is better than 1.

Maybe a little selfish off me, but i hope he is a flop at Hull, otherwise it could come back to bite us on the ar$e in the end. I wish him well at Hull, but hope it doesn't come back to haunt us.

Unless Hull are planning on signing 12-15 other players of Long's quality, it won't.
