| Massive, massive blow.
Easily the most significant injury of the season. Losing 152 half backs was bad, but losing the Man Of Steel for upwards of 6 weeks is devastating.

| Roby's probably fractured an eye socket but we don't know for certain and, even if he has, it may not be serious and so may not mean a long lay off. However, we very much needed him for Wigan so that is going to put a lot of extra pressure on us just when it seemed the pressure might be easing.
Thankfully we have a lot of players on the pitch at present. We would have been seriously screwed if this had happened just a few weeks ago.
Might Wilkin be a good replacement for him while he is missing (assuming he will be)?

I see your idea of moving wilkin to 9. It worked very well for England when we put sinfield at hooker and IMO was the player of the series when moved there.
Could work but i feel Royce will go with Moore.

| How long is he out for? Is there any chance of him being available for the Wigan and Wire games?

Royce says he ain't got clue how long he'll be out for.
I did my eye socket few year back and was told no contact for 8 weeks but I played after 5/6 weeks as it was a final but was told taking huge risk of further damage.
I got thru the game ok but we lost

| The idea of Wilkin at hooker is a good one and resist putting Scott Moore back there. Moore is playing well as a back rower who can jump in at dummy half from time to time rather than a full time 9. With us getting more forwards back from injury we could do this and not miss Wilkins running while keeping him in the middle of the park for his defence and organisation.
Eastmond may also be on option as cover for hooker in the short term.

It just depends what sort of fracture it is. I had to have reconstructive surgery after a blowout fracture of my eye-socket when I were a lad and couldn't play for about 12 months. If its a hairline thing then you can potentially be getting on with it after a handful of weeks.

| I can't really see Royce not giving Moore a run at hooker while Roby is out, leave Wilkin were he is and let Moore have a run in his real possition.

| Royce does seam to prefer players playing in their chosen positions, hence Makinson getting a run last night, over the more experienced Eastmond.
The exception to this is the Prop at loose forward.
He may try Wilkin if we had no option or if the stand in's where not up to scratch, but Moore is an international hooker so should be able to do thejob, although it may change our play slightly as he is a different style of Hooker to Roby.

The prop at 13 thing is a common style of play down under,i would personally like Wilkin to play 13 and just play with the starting props and interchange around that.Having said that we are winning and if it aint broke dont fix it.
