Hate to be the one to say this but look at that badge.
"Saints RL" there is no use of the towns name anywhere in that video. It doesn't matter to me as I have never lived in St.Helens. It looks like we are rebranding ourselves to be a regional team so we can play in Widnes and Liverpool in 2011 (and maybe beyond).
I am sure someone will accuse me of over analysing one video but things like that are never done by accident.

I think the saints can easily be bigger than sthelens, if this means we can get a Jammer or 2 a year + 10000+ extra fans then I'm all for it! |

Liverpool St Helens - Already in existence and previously part of Sporting club St Helens as I recall. Nothing came of that, I see nothing coming of this either.

I agree. I was just thinking it a little strange to rebrand as Saints RL and drew the prallel with Quins RU / RL. Selling off Moss Lane and moving into a new stadium giving year-round usage such as happens at Headingley, would make financial sense at least.
I hate the idea as Saints would then inherit a quagmire at the start of every season but it does make me think.
As I said, I'm probably just being paranoid!  |

God I hope you are wrong,I remember that sporting club about 10 years ago which included soccer,boxing and bloody yawnion.

The downside for me is that when I read Saints RL, I keep thinking Saints R Us. But that's probably just me.

Too many trips to a toy shop in Warrington??
Nothing will come of the RU for years - LSH are pot, play if front of tiny crowds and we are not in a Leeds position of subsidizing a club for a decade just to get them to the bottom of the semi pro leagues as they will never make the pro league. |
