Maybe she means saints was planning ahead for his next contract?
IMO bryn has been no big loss even with the injuries we've got. If we had full team fit I doubt he'd even get a look in. Perry, LMS, TP, Graham and clough would be ahead of him in the front row and Sia, wilkin, flannery and clough ahead of him in the back row.
I just wished we somehow could have kept Jake emmitt. He was starting to look the part last year and if he progressed as he was could maybe replaced jammer when he goes the NRL.

Thank you. That is exactly what I meant. I do believe the Chairman also referred to the matter of financing Kyle Eastmond's (never to be) new contract as well.

Only looking after my special girl
When you think about it, it's a tough job trying to tie players down on new deals and bringing new players to the club. They have to plan 3/4 years in advance.
I think that's what maybe happened when the likes of bryn and emmitt left. I'd say they prob wanted 3/4 year deals but with eastmond, Pryce, jammer, flannery and ade coming off contract at the same time we just couldn't risk it.
Also, I think sir mac wanted to free some cap space for the 2012 season as we are moving to our new stadium and he'll want as he's says " a team to grace our new stadium"

But if you remove Graham and Puletua for 2012, I'd say Hargreaves would be pretty handy as your 4th choice prop. And he'll still be around for a bit when Perry retires.

Don't get me wrong and I'm not for one min slagging bryn off but he's just your average run of the mill hard working forward.

Hargreaves was effectively replaced by LMS, who is a much better player.

So it quotes 100% that TP has signed?
If that's true then he's being telling his team mates and the club lies. I know a current saints player pretty well. He's told me the only thing stopping him from signing a very good 2yr deal with saints Is family reasons back in oz.

It doesn't say he's definitely signed. Just that Wire are trying their up most best to secure his signature for next year.
I think their obviously looking to replace Carvell, who's reported to be leaving.

| Puletua has been offered an extremely attractive 2 year deal by St Helens, the only thing stopping him signing it are off field problems on Oz. If he sorts the problems he will sign for Saints, if he doesn't he will go back to the NRL.
Wire have offered him a deal, but are certainly not in the equation.

As are Saints, so he must be staying with us. We tried our up most best to keep Kyle too, didn't quite work out that way.
I'd be surprised if he went to Wire, but stranger things have happened.

| Did anyone see the highlights on sky last night? They go on about conditioning being great at the Wire but they have let Solo balloon up in weight dramatically. He looks like a ball with two legs sticking out of the bottom. If TP ended up like that it would be a shame.
There is just too much talk of him leaving for me. No smoke and all that. It would a horrible situation to be in with our best two forwards leaving at the same time.
