I like Hock. I think he's much maligned these days. However...

He has natural RL talent. No question. This season he's not lived-up to the 'fisticuffs in your face' accusations that have followed him either. Although, I think this has been part of his problem too. If you take the mongrel out of him he becomes less of a player. Something that's happened to him this season. This leads him to becoming a luxury player and can any team afford to have one of those atm? Especially on big money.

It also leads onto the big question mark for me, is he able to manage himself away from playing? He seems well capable of splitting player opinion on himself within his own team and seems to be able to cause an argument in an empty room (Away from the pitch).

If he can finally settle, and he's running out of time, he'll be a big player for someone. But I fear that he's running out of chances now.

I'd have him without question. I'd rather 15 games a season from him (and hopefully more if he doesn't get injured/sent off) than 30 games of Laffranchi

I'd take him definitely. I'd have mixed feelings purely because of how much I used to hate him and his tendency for being a bit of a bellend. But having said that he would so much to our pack that we don't currently have.

I would be shocked though - I can't see him being a McManus-type player!

I've said before, I'd 100% take him. He's big, strong, physical and has a presence about him.

He's the most naturally gifted forward I've seen tbh but his baggage outweighs his talent and teams lack of success with him in it would be a worry for me if I were a Saints fan. He has never won a major trophy in his career for one reason or another.

In saying all that he's possibly worth the risk for Saints because you lack aggression and a nasty streak. You wouldn't be as easy to bully with Hock and Burns in your team.
