| Quote: Merthyr Saint "There is two hours between the games therefore logistics and safety issues is a red herring. IMHO it has only been done to massage the poor attendance figures of Quins RL and claiming 14500 will bring the averages up from zero to hero!!'"
I agree....100% I agree and I have been shot down in flames by the Quins faithful for pointing this out. A 14k gate will add 1k to the average.........and fool only the RFL. I can see Salford salivating over this one....if it comes down to QRL having a better average this year.....but guess what, nothing can be done about it.
14,000 walking 1 way whilst a max of 5k walking the other isn't going to please the residents of TW2 and if they turned down pavaroti for a gig at RUHQ......they aren't going to allow this.
Sorry that you have decided to boycot games down here now, but that's your choice.

| Please complain to our club about this rather than complaining about it on here (feel free to do both, but ensure the club know your feelings). I will be doing so.

I am sorry. I understand you're a passionate supporter and it is you who will suffer if your club no longer exists. However it is very true that your club offer nothing to our competition.
LMS and Clubb are turning into vastly overated players imo. They have both gone backwards.

| "Well said. Oh and while we're at it, we will take SKY with us...."
So Sky only film because Bronquins are in it???
It will never be an exspansion sport, because its passion in play and support come from its roots, That aint London or norfolk or devon or Lincolnshire. Why??? cos they didnt play rugby when the rugby league was formed, by all means try to expand and educate people in other areas, but when do we give up on exspantion realising its not working and support the traditional clubs???

| Quote: gutterfax "OK.....I am not going to appologise for the situation surrounding this game and those that have seen my many posts regarding the way the club is run can tell you I am no fan of the current situation at Twickenham Stoop, but I will say this.
St Helens fans have not been singled out for this attention. The fact is, the Union lot own the ground and they had to reschedule the Leeds game. Therefore, Quins RL have a need to keep their landlords sweet and agreed to the double header. I very much doubt, that given the opportunity to pi55 off away fans we thought it would be a good idea to chose the second biggest draw (traditionally) in London.
Next up, the club have to concede that there are 14,500 regular Union fans who will want to see the Leeds game and therefore the ticketing needs to be consistent with what these fans pay. Therefore, ( IMO) it was decided than rather deal with a set of 14k fans leaving moving against a set of say 5,000 arriving would present a Health and Safety + logistical nightmare. So, they have decided to offer both games at the knock-down price of £25 rather than £40 for the two individually.
I fully understand that Saints fans are pi55ed off. Believe me, I stirred up a 5hit storm last year when Sky shafted us by moving the game in France and I know that it might feel like you are being victamised, but you are not. Simple financial constraints placed on the club by the Union lot and the bad weather that caused the original leeds game to be cancelled have caused this......and I am sure the club are not impressed either.
It is not a money making excercise by Harlequins Rugby League, but an accommodation that had to be made. I really hope that those Saints fans who now don't make the trip down still consider coming back next year......you really are a good laugh and I always enjoyed drinking with you before and after the games.
Good luck for the rest of the season (except the double header of course)'"
And we have a pop at Wigan because they are held to ransom by a football team...............

I disagree. They are investing in the community around London, along with Skolars. The amateur game in London is spreading and has never looked healthier. So they are doing a lot for 'our great game'.
I think people on here are really over-reacting. It's embarrassing.

| What a load of whining rubbish, as I have said on the Quins Site, I have paid £24 for a stand seat at Knowsley Road and then have to fight to see the try line and a dirty window at the end of the stand, that I don't think has ever been cleaned does not help!
I agree it is wrong to not offer a ticket for the League game only, but there is not that much difference in price, sad to read though the parochial sad shouts of I hope Quins fold! - every club has it's problems, 8,000 plus at Knowsley Road while just down the road the same night in Wigan 15,000 plus and it is a smaller town, so don't preach to other clubs, I live in the Borough, can you tell me when you last saw a poster advertising a Saints game?

But we didn't charge you extra to watch a RU game beforehand.

It was your choice to pay £24 for a seat. You could have paid £18 to stand or even a couple of pounds less if you had booked tickets in advance.
St Helens has a population of just over 100,000 while the Wigan borough has just over 305,000. Proportionally you would expect them to get a bigger attendance, but as a % of population, St Helens are better supported (10% as opposed to 5%).
Our average attendance last season was well in excess of 10,000, one of the criteria for Franchise I believe, and has steadily increased over the last 5 years.

Given that I pay anything up to £19 to stand on concrete under a hole that drips rain on me I really don't have a problem with the charge, no. But if I did have a problem with it, I wouldn't verbally bash up the heads of Quins fans who can do nothing about it and probably feel really embarrassed about it. Also, I wouldn't storm off in a huff, cancelling hotels and God knows what. I thought the idea was to support Saints?
The reaction on here is really embarrassing.

exactly - in the grand scheme of things, its not that much more than usual, its not that much more than you pay at other grounds (£20 to stand at Wakey), so it wont affect my attendance of the game (i'm on holiday so wont be going anyway
the biggest issue for me is the way that RL in London is being run - crowds are at an all time low, schemes like this will only cause more resentment towards the club from its loyal supporters and wont exactly encourage others to turn out to watch them.
