Sykes is just not good enough - I'm not even sure he's good enough for the Dulls.
The Troll's played very well but this 'game' is just a training match

You can't call Tomkins outstanding for that performance. You could pick any half back from a SL academy and put them in against that lot and they'd score plenty.
NL2 stuff that tonight, England were dreadful, totally lacking in structure and direction, the only times they were dangerous was when balls hit the floor and Wales didn't react.

| Sykes at full back was stupid.
He only got in the squad due to his good form at stand off in Bradford's end of season run. So Smith switches him to full back.
Sykes should be dropped and Smith should have been sacked after the World Cup. Smith shouldn't be anywhere near the England set up!
The Aussie and Kiwis won't be laughing at all, their chins will hit the floor at how absolutely dreadful the game is here as they'll think that's our level. Thing is how much improvement can Tony Smith get out of them?
We shall see!
As a Wigan fan I'd agree with Tomkins MOM but why Myler? Ratchford played until the season's end and was in form. Myler hadn't played.
Ratchford should have been in the halves.
Let's hope they can improve when the Leeds and Saints player take part.

I agree, but he was the best player on the field. You can't ask for more.
He has been the best halfback in Superleague this season. Cut the kid some slack.

I'm not criticising him. I think the lack of organisation is due to the coaching rather than the young half backs. Look at how wel drilled Wales looked with the ball, some of their angles and moves were very impressive. They don't have the players to carry it off though.

You can only play whats infront of you. He played miles better than Myler. His defence was great and he was so allert and read the game so well. Two of his tries were pure class and not many other players could of scored them!
He is the best we have!

My thoughts too. I was actually quite encouraged by the Welsh performance and I think they do have some players capable of carrying off the moves (with more practice, confidence and opportunity) but one in particular was prone to dropping the ball. With Wales they were always going to be the development team but they were improved on last year and Harris et al have clearly got a response from them already. With good coaching and consistent ongoing investment, Wales could have a reasonable team in a few years' time if the raw potential of tonight is anything to go by.

McGuire at scrum half with Tomkins? With a combination like that we could see the first game of rugby league without a pass from the half-backs!
