Does anyone know if Maurie is definitely a broken arm, or is it still a rumour?





I guess the only good outcome about all of the injuries we currently have, is that all the players are getting a rest before the Playoffs.

Sure on the Saints website last week, Mick Potter said that he would be back the 2nd or 3rd week of August.

He'll never be 'back' in any way other than to make up the numbers.



We should look into loaning a player before the deadline. There must be salary cap room and there must be a club either outside the playoffs or outside the country who would part with a prop they don't need for a while.

I don't think there is anybody out there that is Championship winning material. I doubt many clubs in SL would give us a forward anyway, as they would want us to be as weak as possible and in the NRL I doubt players could get a Work Permit before the Deadline. I guess we will just go with Frodsham, Emitt and other young lads just until Maurie or JC come back.

Glad to read both Wheeler and Wello will be fine for next week, with the possible charges re Gilmour and Pryce.



With regards to Maurie, he was iced and had the arm splice on, yet at the end of the game it had been removed and he walked over towards the fans clapping away and appeared to be pain free, smiling away and gave the fans a wave.



I sky+ the game and Maurie had no strapping whatsoever on either arm at the final hooter.



On the official site Potter seems pretty hopeful its just a bad "chaulk".

Thats what I thought. If it is broken it's not a bad one. When he went off he was able to lift it up, but was compressing it near the elbow and wiggling his fingers when being told to by the Doctor, probably because it was numb.



Fingers crossed it's just a bang.
