| Attacking wise we were decent, but defensively we just did not have the passion for this game that Wigan had.
I think Brown has to take some responsibility for sending out a side without the attitude to run at this game like a playoff game. We call him Ape man but one thing Wane can do is motivate his players.

I agree somewhat for Brown was obviously pee'd off with our performance after his post match comments, so i do believe Brown was passionately up for the game. The players are 100 percent at fault, our defence vs Wire was 100 percent better than that today

Lomax was our best player today. We are stuffed without him. He's our X factor with the ball.

Possibly so but I can only comment on the games I see (which is admittedly les than yourself, I'm sure). Today he was the only player, ball in hand, that I actually feared. I think it's also fair to remember he's still in the early part of his career and only relatively recently given the fullback berth on a full time basis. I'd have him at Wigan in a shot, despite the fact we have some exciting prospects there ourselves. Like I say, he was your MOM today. Any player that outplays the likes of Roby, Walsh and (on current form) Makinson is doing something right!

I agree mate. His performances are good but i believe Jonny is world class not just great. I do believe he will be one of Saints greatest players.

Support play has been poor lately which is big contrast to early on when everyone wanted the ball.
I seen this loss coming. Brown seen this loss coming as players ain't been pulling their weight.

| Further to a comment I made earlier, I wouldn't mind seeing LMS played in the second row. As people have said, he can be pretty damaging when the pack is already moving forward, but he's completely useless when we're in a tight spot and need to get out of first gear. He just doesn't seem to have the mentality of a top prop to me.
In the second row, though, I think he'd go pretty well. He'd get a chance to use his mobility on the edges, where the defence isn't quite as packed, and we wouldn't be relying on him to get the go-forward started.

Nathan Brown got it spot on in his post match interview when he said "Sean O'Loughlin took us to school today". From a Saints perspective Lomax was outstanding and comfortably your MOM. To use the old cliché, he didn't deserve to be on the losing side today.'"
To continue the highlight... "far superior to the rest of the players". Sean is, by far the most under recognised player in the league by the fans. Coaches and players past and present in SL have recognised his ability but not so much the fans.

| Quote: SaintsFan "I didn't get the impression Walsh wasn't working hard. He has a right to expect us to work hard given the nature of the game. He shouldn't need to nanny us into doing the basics, like catching a ball and tackling the opposition. He was also operating with an injured arm. When I first saw him injured in the first half I thought we were going to lose him. He looked in agony. I can't blame him for getting out to our edges. Our forwards were naff all use.'"
Fair Comment. The early knock was severe and he did work throughout the match. It wasn't so much a criticism of him (other than I think there were a few times he chose the wrong option) as his commitment is there for all to see. Its more to do with fans and their inability to praise a perceived poor player when he's had a good game and vice versa. He has been very good for us this year but as we were outmuscled today, I agree there was little he could do on his own....which is perhaps why he should have stuck to a more structured game.
In hindsight, the loss is more to do with our tough last three games compared to the Pie Gobblers's three and there subsequent performance.

Easily your best player, he scared the life out of me every time he touched the ball. It seemed like he could break our line at will, I'm very grateful he had no backup !

Did we have any attacks at all in the second half?

We created plenty of overlaps, but it seemed a team wide initiative that as soon as space was found, the correct thing to do is simply let the ball fall to ground.
