...and I lack the... shall we be charitable and say "athleticism" to be a centre... eusa_liar.gif Put another way, I make Stuart Evans look like Jamie Foster... I always got lumbered playing prop at school (and at Union too as we never played League at Cowley icon_twisted.gif) due to being twice the size of all the other kids and I've not exactly shrunk since icon_wink.gif

Anyway, if SaintsFan is going to play #6 then I'll volunteer to play #7 so I'll be in a good position to kick her instead of the ball...

Mugwump mocking mental illness for a second time - "You are mentally ill and I can't indulge your madness any more" Utter disgusting abusive remark from a keyboard warrior:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_44308.gif

Quote: SomersetSaint "This should be the first "friendly" of the season, would be good to see pete lining up opposite perry, saddened facing wellens, saintsfan lining up against everyone else! I'll pay good money to see it
I've backed Perry more than anyone and was one if his biggest fans when he was in the NRL. I had a little jiz when I heard we'd signed him.

Towards the back end of last season, I couldn't back him anymore, it was clear the injuries had made him a shadow of his former self.

He's now just a below average prop who's taking up a quota spot and eating a big chunk if our salary cap.

I can't knock McManus for that signing, he was a top class prop at the time but unfortunately it didnt work.

Just for the record, I wouldn't fear Mr Perry one little but up I did play opposite him

Based on what Brown's said and the Huddersfield friendly:

Wellens
Makinson
Turner
Jones
Meli
Gaskell
Lomax
Laffranchi
Roby
Puletua
Soliola
Manu
Wilkin

Hohaia
Perry
LMS
Flanagan

Our pack's looking quite strong in my opinion, and I like the idea of Hohaia off the bench.

Do you remember the Salford away fixture? Hohaia played part of the game in the pack and roby stayed on the pitch, so they shared the dummy half spot (much like robes and moore did for a while). It added quite a bit of energy to the pack, as well as extra unpredicability around the ruck.

Absolutely ridiculous. 2 of the best 2nd rowers in the league playing centre. Shambles.

Agreed, no point having our two biggest impact players playing where they'll make less impact.

i have always said this would be the best way to play him, and as we know roby can play full 80 very well gives him a chance to get a little rest on the pitch and still be out their, i think the two of the would rip teams apart then with sia, manu and TP to carry on a run and lomaskell (sp) could be good

again i agree, you would want to pick them at 3/4 by choice you just take away from their game, BUT they needed to cover a injuryed player for a game what a back up they would make!!

Mine would be..
1. Paul Wellens
21. Tommy Makinson
3. Jordan Turner
19. Josh Jones
5. Francis Meli
20. Lee Gaskell
7. Jonny Lomax
8. Josh Perry
9. James Roby
14. Anthony Laffranchi
11. Tony Puletua
13. Willie Manu
12. Jon Wilkin

6. Lance Hohia
10. Louie McCarthy Scarsbrook

I would like us to rotate the squad this year, we have plenty of strength in depth and I hope we take full advantage of that.

Not forgetting we have Gardner. Say what you want about him, but he gives it his all every time he plays.

Exactly, we have 3 wingers who are all decent players, so why just play the same 2 week in week out. Rugby League is a squad game these days, and if we have strength in depth, we should use it IMO.
