| Simmons had a far better coaching pedigree than Brown. How long before you sack him too?
Sts are an average side these days. I don’t see too many stars queing up to sign.
Maybe when Browny moves Wello to the second row and Roby to prop things will improve.

I give you Evidence A, m'lud.
Amnesic, and more than a little bitter.

Oh yes, I would agree with that.

Did he? I don't actually know what Brown's pedigree is. I think Simmons got Penrith to a Grand Final but was sacked when they slipped to the bottom of the league. Mind you, Daniel Anderson suffered the same fate after the Eels followed the same pattern (and much more quickly too) so that isn't necessarily a criticism. I think Simmons got Hull to a couple of semis too but other than that he was an assistant for a long time at Wests.

He'll go well at Saints.

Cheers, I really hope he does and I do have high hopes. He transformed you guys.
I also hope Baloo continues his work (although not at Saints expense, of course!), I've loads of respect for the big man.

Last quality coach we had aint done so bad for himself, still lives close by too, Tony Smith.
Shame he'll probably be remembered for the last 8 weeks in which we've been crap rather than the good work hes done and the position hes elevated us to instead, up to 5 years ago, we could only dream off turning Leeds, Wigan, Saints,Wire over etc and now we tend to do it at least once a season.
Sadly not in the big games though, 2010 at your place still hurts, 20 lousy mins away from OT

| Well it's nice to see the Saints fans who are already lined up to shoot Brown down and he has not even stepped through the door yet.
It always seams to be the case with fans nowa days that the smallest thing will suddenly have fans dying to jump down a player or a coaches throat and this one is not even here yet.
It's to be expected in the age of the internet and instant judgements, but no doubt there are fans out there looking for the day that NB finishes at Saints to see who is next in line for a good internet bashing. I have no loyalty to any particular coach but I think Millward is a great example that people should bear in mind, he was great at Saints not so great at Wigan. Both big clubs with huge resources, why should one be so different from the other, because they are.
NB's past 3 years at huddersfield can only tell us so much and the last 3 months even less.
Personally I think the Huddersfield fans have an excess amount of faith in an assistant coach who has learned everything he knows from NB. Yet expect him to come up with something even better to take them to glories they feel are within reach. Anderson may not be a terrible coach, but it's hard to see having been under brown and only brown how he will surpass his teacher. The addition of KP may help him as he will bring another dynamic of coaching from a different philosophy.
As for player power, well the reason it's the ultimate power is because without them there is no game. The only people who can counter player power are the owners and the fans. If the fans won't stand it, then the coach can act, if the owner won't stand it then the coach can act. But if the players get their punches in first by losing, then the fans and owner may already be on the coaches back before they see the revolution.

Who is doing that? I've only seen Hudds fans on here doing that. I've seen people expressing concerns and given the unpleasant way things have ended at Hudds for Brown that is hardly surprising, especially bearing in mind his presser yesterday. I don't see anyone lining up to shoot him down though. I think you are imagining that one unless I've missed a post.

You can't stop destiny though... KC was NOT going out of KR with a defeat!
He totally out coached us in the CC semi the previous year, you had that game won before kick off he'd prepared you so well.

I remember that match. Longy was water boy was he not? And the one thing we needed was a kicker because could we get through their defence? No. We were stuffed from the get-go.
And to think, this season we are top dogs for scoring tries from kicks. Who'd-a thunk it.

| Look at the latest thread on the Hudds board
'Nathan Brown an unmitigated disaster ?'
Dragging their team from nowhere to league contenders = unmitigated disaster, apparently.

| It's tricky as it's a results based industry and the results say that he had to go. However the basis for those results seams to be down to unrest rather than coaching.
Unrest brought about by NB signing for Saints, their Captain leaving and pretty much every club having a good long look at Danny Brough.
Nathan Brown has elevated the Giants to playing with the top of the league, they has one really good year with Sharp, but nothing more notable than that, to not being out of the top 5 under brown, the old playoff places.
For me it seams that Huddersfield have got to the top of the tree, but staying there is a tougher job. When you are in 10th regularly, people are not looking to poach your players and coaches, now they have been in the top 5, 3 years running players are in demand and are going to be poached or tempted.
Saints had to ward off Warrington last year over TP, edmonson was offered better bucks to go play lower down the league. It's tough holding it together at the top and Huddersfield just don't seam to be able to do it and the club have cracked over these competing pressures.
If they lose Brough as well then I can't see them staying in the top half next year.

I can argue the point very validly and i am glad he has gone.
I did not join in the bunting waving and getting the champagne out after the first few games.
Our game against London was a killer. We won quite comfortably but got absolutely battered in the forwrds. I said at the time once we come up against a good team who are organised and have decent backs we will be knackered as our pack is featherweight.
Every time one of our poster puts up the OPTA stats i have said we Have no go forward from our pack.
I have been proved right. The worst thing is we still have a lightweight pack and will have the same problem until next season.
Bear in mind that NB was the FIRST and ONLY giants coach to have a FULL SALARY CAP to work to as well as TRANSFER FEES to buy players when needed.
If you look at the last few years how many teams were up to full salary cap so we would definitely have improved regardless. Brown had his strengths and improved elements of the team in terms of indavidual developments .
He is a NO 2 not a first team coach.
Most of those who are saying on our board he was god for the Giants have been around watching Huddersfield whilst were complete shiite. So for them a few good seasons where we did not lose 50 and 60 nill is a good achievement.
I set my sights higher and have always said Silverware counts the rest is .
Even Jon sharp got us to a CC final and a fifth place in the table but not many fans are lauding him.
