| Its not good for us.if he goes now and the club is compensated it means this season is pretty much a write off. Next season is going to be interesting and potentially horrific with us likely to be without Kyle,Jammer and Leon.
Letting him stay would cause a lot of problems IMO.

That depends if we can keep Pryce fit or not.
I imagine we'll be eyeing up a top class replacement with the new stadium move in mind.

| Would like to see us be positive and bring in a good 7 that wants to play for the club. If he's not going now then make him polish Keiron's statue every day to see what loyalty looks like

Lots of talk of Chris Ashton on here, seem to recall a fair amount of gloating and jibeing, when he left us....
You are better off without the money grabbing little weasel, he would have only have milked the club for years to come, by threatening to leave, using up all your cap space, meaning you're out-bid whenever someone comes on the market, whilst spending half in the injury room.
Its for the good of the club and well done Big Mac for not beaking the bank for any one player+'"
When in good god did you develop sense of the common variety.
At the end of the day, we could NEVER have afforded Kyle as soon as Union sniffed around. If he wanted money, rather than the respect and adoration in League, like CAshton and Robinson before him, who can fault him.
If we detatch ourselves from the emotion we have as fans, we would probably have done the same thing.
I see the salary cap has reared it's head as a point again. Well, for Kyle Eastmond, I raise you Wakefield as a reason to keep it. Until we can grow the game to the same financial footing as union, our cap HAS to stay. Just there should be a few caveats to try and help this sort of situation.

| I'd like to see him stay for the year, but, like Saddened, I could see it stirring up unrest.
If he does go immediately then we'd have some cap space and a transfer fee for a good organising half back with a kicking game (something that would do our side no harm at all), but where we'd find one at this stage is anyone's guess.

| Personally I don't see why the Yawnion bods would cough up extra cash to bring Eastmond in immediately. There's only 2-3 months left in their domestic season. The only possible reason that they would want to do that is if they're looking at fast-tracking him into the England set-up before the Yawnion World Cup kicks off in the autumn

We wouldn't, IMO. The cap space would be kept and spent on a player for the new stadium, which would be the right call.
We can't be panicked into splashing cash on whoever is available, we should go with one of the young lads alongside Pryce IMO.

Wheeler and Pryce is a combo that worked well a couple of seasons back at Wakefield.

I've always been a fan of Lomax if/when he's fit. Problem is though Eastmond was your main kicker wasn't he? I know Pryce took that role towards the end of last year, what's Lomax like?
As for Eastmond, as others have said it was inevitable he was going at some point. Why not let him go now when you get a fee, as he would probably only have played 50% of the games the rest of this season anyway! He hasn't become the integral leader in the side most though he would be after Long left, so why not start rebuilding now?
What's your quota situation like though? Any space for another?

If there's no genuine quality available then I'd agree, but unless Lee Gaskell turns out to have a very mature head on his shoulders then I think we could basically write this season off.

Possibly. Does Wheeler have a good enough kicking game to be our main kicker though? I certainly don't think Pryce does.

To be fair, we could have played a snowman alongside Pryce that day - he was incredible.

I couldn't disagree more.
We reached the GF last season short on props, halves and centres. This season we've shored up the pack with LMS/Perry (and Soliola to a large extent) and added some pace in the centres.
Pryce was the huge loss last season, not Eastmond. Add Leon/Shenton/Perry/LMS into that GF side and we'd have had a shot, no question.
I'm still very comfortable with our squad, Kyle or no Kyle, and think we still have a very good chance of silverware even if he leaves.

I forgot about that. Pryce was amazing that day.

Right now, I would accept a season long second coming. But no more.
