Does the same not apply to JC? He was one of the best props in the world when he signed for Saints and anybody that knows anything about the game knows this.

In 2006 he was awesome, doing basically what Graham is doing now. In 2007 he was very good even though he had a few injuries. 2008 he missed most of the season due to injury but was good in the games he played. 2009 he received the injury that has ended his career at Saints.

Personally I am gutted to see him go, when he was fit he was one of the best props in SL, he got through a load of work and always had an offload waiting for someone. I just hope we replace him with someone as good if not better

No it doesn't. And although I adored Scully, in the end I thought we kept him too long and was given too many chances to recover his fitness. Everyone - including himself - could see he wasn't the player he was.

In JC's case he was never of that quality for us IMO. My apparent disrespect for JCcomes from his being non productive through no fault of his own and holding us back in signing a new prop because of salary cap restrictions.

If SL lasts 2 more years I will be very suprised.

Gilly is a good second row forward, but with Soliola coming over to play at centre and already having Wilkin, TP, Flannery, Moore/Roby/KC (as i believe one of these 3 will play at 13 next seasn) we have 4 players playing for 3 spots, add to that Ashurst, Dixon, Clough, this then in reality is 7 players playing for 3 spots. Therefore someone has to go and unfortunatley it is Gilly on this occasion.

No problem with what you say but don't agree and I think we will see Gilly doing well next year and SL can only improve HFC can't he?

I have to question your judgement of players, not a fan of Cayless and thinking 2 players who in truth are a shadow of there former selves, are worth 2 year deals at a club with trophy winning ambitions?!

Just thought he ended up unreliable, unable to read the team around him way past his best etc - not unlike IMO Paul Rauhihi at Dire.

Who has been more instumental in Saints sucess over the last couple of years? Cayless or SL / Gilly?
It's got to be the latter two as JC wasn;t playing most of the time!
