I agree with some of the above posts that I to have a sneaky feeling we are going to make the final, probably against Leeds. But first I am fully thinking of nothing else but us getting past Salford on Thursday before I dare to dream.

Do we know which days the Semis will be played on and which positions play on which night? or do we have to wait till 2 days before when Sky have made the decision?

The most unlikely outcome is finishing 4th. If we beat Salford we will finish 3rd. So it will be Leeds away on the Friday as Cas have already said that they will be on the Thursday.

If we finish third this season is the most unlikely season of all.

Luke Gale on a hospital trolley still under anesthetic is a better scrum half than Smith.

I didn't really think Smith offered us what we need the first time around, he is the same now, a great in field player but we need action close to the line within 10 meters of the enemy, he never provided this I didn't think and still doesn't

we are better with Fages and Lomax. I Like Matty Smith though and he has proven to be one of the top players, I just don't see how he fits into this Saints team.

Why is it? If both Saints win and Hull win then Saints finish 4th (this is more likely given Cas' team selection)

Matty might improve the "good looks" of the team though, Luke Gale reminds me of one of the gangsters out of the Peaky Blinders.

Whilst not a great fan of Smith he did a job last night. He came on, settled the team down and allowed us to win comfortably.

Good to see a Cas fan getting ahead of themselves. We know a lot can happen between winning the LLS & the GF. At least you wont have Terry Newton to blame for losing your playmaker for the play offs.

Why, when someone questions the ability of a team's player, do fans infer other things into that message? I have always thought, still think, & will always think that Smith is massively overrated. Saying that a HB steadies down the team is polite for stating he is mediocre. There is nothing to Smith's game apart from reasonable kicking from hand, especially in the wet. He is slow, can't make a break, can't support a break, can't create & is poor tackler. Just because he waves his arms frantically at the PTB, runs in an exaggerated manner for 4 steps before passing, does not impress. A couple of weeks ago you were suggesting he is the worst Saints signing ever.

That said, I am not confident of beating any of the other 4 who will be in the SF or GF. What we have achieved so far is beyond my wildest dreams, so no predictions from me. If I was to pick a Lancs team it would be Saints. I've always liked them & most of their fans.
