Glad to see he has gone and should have happened 5 years ago. Top professional players simply can't have that many errors in their game.

Probably about the right time but still sad. He's been our best back for at least the last 4 years and our only wide threat at all since Gidley faded. He'll be sadly missed and we'll be significantly weaker without him. The plebs who point-blank refuse to remember anything but the GF blunders will no doubt be happy though.

That I totally agree. Meli performed well at centre and we really could have done with Meli in the centres and signed another winger for this year.

Best winger at the club IMO but its the correct decision as we do need to move on and bring fresh approach to the squad.

We just need a few more to follow him and replace them with younger better quality

Paul Wellens, Ade Gardner, Lance Hohaia, Josh Perry, Anthony Laffranchi, Gary Wheeler etc....................

There was always a question regarding meli's defence but his finishing has been outstanding and still is.

I think St Pete put it well above. He's our most dangerous outside back and is still a good player. But the club needs to kick on and progress and as he'll be 35 by next season, it's the right time to do it.

Giving Wellens a new deal is not acceptable in any scenario, hopefully the club see that.

That's exactly my point. The club has gone stale and a change is needed of a change. I think 5/6 player change over is needed to freshen the place up.

We wouldn't be in this mess if previous coaches and McManus had brought new blood in gradually over the years. We left it to long and this is what we got.

I remember getting slated on here for predicting that this would happen. Even top teams need to bring new blood in and get shut of deadwood. We didnt do that and now we are paying the price.
