| Good news, this. He wasn't going to break into our first team anytime soon, so it's a chance for him to impress.

| I don't rate him tbh, but our squad is shot to pieces so at least he has a bit of experience at this level.
He would get squad number 39 and of he plays on Monday it will be the 5th game in a row that we have handed out a debut.
It will be good for him to get some game time too, including hopefully a play off game or two.

| Not impressed. We send a young homegrown player out on loan and hold on to an ageing antipodean who is lazy in defence and always lets us down in big games. I hope he stings us where it hurts personally.

Meli is miles better than Foster, it's not even close.
Re: mistakes in big games, Foster can count himself very lucky that his atrocious error against Wigan didn't contribute to us being dumped out of the play-offs last year.
Lazy in defence? Superleague website suggests he's missed 5 tackles all season and he hits far harder than Foster ever could.
As for hoping he stings us where it hurts, I can't help but think you let your own personal agendas cloud what is in the best interests of the team.
As a general point, Meli probably been our best outside back again this year - check out his breaks and busts stats. I think some people's dislike of him is so entrenched they are completely incapable of assessing his performances rationally.

Meli has been one of our most consistent performers this year, his kick returns have been excellent, he makes good yards with the ball, defends when he has to (not quite sure how a winger can be lazy in defence to be honest) and finishes tries well...what more do you want him to do???
Foster is too good to play in the reserves, but due to poor form earlier in the season has found himself behind Meli, Gardner, Makinson & Swift in the pecking order. This could be a good chance for Jamie to prove his worth at SL level and get him a shot at getting back into the Siants team next season - Charnley played at Hull KR on loan in 2010 and look at him the past 2 seasons - it will be better for him playing at Hull than in our reserves and hopefully will see a more confident and improved Foster in future

Meli isnt my favourite player but your being totally irrational , at the moment he is head and shoulders better than Foster , in fact the only thing Foster has on him is kicking. I hope Foster pushes onto the next level and makes it at Saints and maybe this will help. As for biting us if Hull do make the playoffs I doubt he'll be allowed to play against us.

| Good move for Jamie, gives him an opportunity to prove his worth. It'll be good for him to get some SL game time to develop as he's way down the pecking order for the first team. Not as good as the options we have at the moment so needs a chance to shine at this level.

| Foster grabbed his spot by being a safe bet on the wing and kicking lots of goals.
He since lost the "safe" part of his game and the other lads have proved there's no chance of him holding us to ransom with his goal kicking. if he gets back some form, he'll make a superleague career, but not with Saints, I don't reckon.
Give me Meli any day of the week. I'd like him to move to the centre next year and maybe start with Turner on the wing.

NOT IMPRESSED? I'm not impressed with some of the rubbish on here, Meli is twice the winger Foster is currently, anyone who knows their Rugby League can see this. As other people have said hope it give Foster a good boost and game time, which both are required. Then in the off season hit the gym hard and put some size on that he needs if hes ever gonna be a top notch Super League winger.

| Foster will probably be wing man to Turner so it's a tester for maybe next year?
