Meh, it's a similar argument to the "Saints GF vs England WC win" that gets trotted out every now and again. Some look towards potential long term benefits, some look towards local bragging rights.
Neither is "wrong" and it's never going to be unanimous.

I'm not bitter because it's you not us, the season before Leeds beat us in the final but I wanted them to win the WCC, Wigan fans have no class in victory, not one Wigan fan I know, NOT ONE, I include all my wigan supporting friends was gracious in victory, my mobile phone sounded like a car alarm and after the fact not one will accept that the reason we crumbled in the 2nd half was players playing injured and a lack of interchange options, no the reason they won is because we are bottlers and old and Wigan were the greatest side to ever grace rugby and we can't live you? Forgetting the fact we turn you over almost as regularly as Saints turn us over.
I firmly believe without the injuries we'd have won that game but hey it's consigned to history now just like the Russell Smith incident many moons ago.
No grace, no class, superiority complex, proven cheats, almost destroyers of our game.
There are many reasons I don't like Wigan, you winning the GF was only 0.00000000000001 of the reason I hate seeing Wigan win.
Good luck Sydney this year, if you play in it next season and your opponents are not Wigan then I won't support you.
If Cronulla do it though I'm on the Sharks as they're my 2nd club.

And do you think this post demonstrates class? I'm surprised you have ANY mates if that is how to talk about them. I'm seriously concerned for your mental well-being mate. You seem to be carrying a lot of anger.

| Is this the amateur psychology turn around, just say 'bless' or 'owned' it's easier, the great thing with true mates I suppose is you can be honest.

| Can't understand why Saints fans wouldn't want Wigan to beat an Aussie side. That's some serious bitterness....
I cheer Saints players when they play for England (though perhaps not quite as loudly as The Wigan players in the side) and I cheered Saints when you played Sale. Of course you lost, which while normal from a Wigan fan's perspective (you lost more matches against Wigan at KR than you won against us at home I believe) was disappointing, particularly as I was sitting next to some Sale fans...
Back on topic I think we can all now agree that there was nothing in the supposed incident and we can all wish Walsh a speedy recovery.

Fair.
Can we also agree that the rfl think some clubs are sailing too close to the line given this has just come out? www1.skysports.com/rugby-league/ ... 6/9152065/? - seems timely given the discussion.
In particular not allowing unintentional as an excuse anymore ...

Bitterness or rivalry?
I hope you get stuffed personally but I have a sneaky feeling you're gonna win and will be smugger than ever.

I see no problem in Saints wanting Wigan to lose.
When you played bath though I did want RL to win.
But RL will win regardless in the WCC.
The game against Sale was difficult as we just could not handle their rolling mauls. We should have put more players in to at least hold them back for longer. Maybe even just try and peg them back with kicks. Tactically RU wise we were not close enough, were as Wigan against Bath had a lot more cross over players who knew the game and had played it at a high enough level.

Bitterness? No. Not wanting your deadliest rivals to be World Champions? Obviously. Grow up.

Hmm. You want Wigan to lose, even though a win for Wigan would be good for British RL and therefore indirectly benefit your own club.... Obviously that's not bitter, glad we cleared that up.

If a £40million a year deal isn't good for British rl (according to your chairman) then wigan winning a game will be like a drop in the ocean for what's required!
It's good for Wigan rl to win, beyond that though it has very little effect

| How does it benefit us, no one south of Cheshire cares about RL here regardless of if you win or not, RL in Australia will look down on us regardless as they always have even when we could compete on even level.

I don't want Wigan to win because I am a Saints fan and I hate Wigan, simple as that. I don't want them to win anything, never have, never will. That isn't bitter, that is me simply not wanting our biggest rival to be successful. The small benefit to Saints, if there is any, is far outweighed by having to put up with you lot being classed as World Champions.
I think you need to understand the word 'bitter' before you start posting it on here.

You winning the WCC will have no benefit to us whatsoever, don't even try to play that card.
