Quote: SaintsFan "I was right by the screen and no matter how many times Bentham played it, it was still offside. It might have been a close offside but offside is still offside no matter how close. But as I said, that is not what lost us the game. Four of our players lost us the game with their respective stupid brainfarts.'"
as tough is it will be and I'm sure you have no real great feeling to play it over a few times on sky plus but have a good look at it at home! the big screen often lies IMO ( or maybe the little screen does?) Bentham is looking at it on a average sized screen not a ten meter one. it looks very very tight on the tv. I can see why you might think its a no try, but as I said it was a 50/50 call it could have gone either way, Thems the brakes! As in the nrl as in super league for calls like that you might as well flip a coin! As you never know how each ref will give it!

Leeds got the call, it's tomorrows chip papers

like I said, this season I've seen miles worse given and even more dead certs chalked off!

Look, I don't give a toss what you think. I know what I saw and you're bound to think it was fine because you're a Leeds fan. But you will notice that I haven't said that the decision cost us the match. It didn't. Our own stupid mistakes cost us the match.

Look I'm not trying to troll you, or wind you up, sorry if it came across like that, I'm just reacting to your comments that you think it was no way a try, when it was far more of a 50/50. I never said I thought it was fine, but I've watched enough rugby in sl and the nrl that I'm savi enough to know those calls go either way week in week out.

your the one with the I know what I saw comments. like it's some injustice. When in reality it's one of those calls you just never know how it's gonna go.

What the hell are you going on about. From when McGuire kicked the ball, draw a straight line across and both his feet are behind. When sky did so at the end, the front of the circle (smith) was in front but his actual feet you can see are behind the ball. For gods sake for just one year admit you lost fair and square (including the try) and youve bottled it for third year in a row.

To blow it three years on the trot, you really need to look at yourselves in more depth than disputing a correct decison.

Quote: Adrian Monk "Dont blame the decision. We made our OWN mistakes. Silly offload by Maurie and Shocking defence from Hargreaves cost us the game.

Leeds where the Best team for 45 minutes. They deserved the win. We had them in our pocket at 8 - 0 but silly mistakes cost us.'"

I've not read the whole of the thread, but i would like to think that the rest of the responses are like this, although i doubt it.

We just bottled it again and committed to our own downfall.

Leeds are just too good for us.

Quote: Adrian Monk "It was and it hurts, i cried when the decision was given. It hurts because it is 3 defeats on the bounce but having looked back i knew the game was gone at 8-8. We had Leeds rattled then blew it.'"

I agree... We had em and blew it! The two tries Leeds got 6yr olds score them every weekend! Shocking! I thought we were clueless near their line. I don't agree that they were better for 45 mins... We dominated when Jammer & Tony were on then it was even when they were off. Leeds just stayed in it and maybe they knew their little friend Bentham would get them out of jail? Understandable considering what happened in the league at Headlingley the other week. If we would've got beat 11-10 then fair enough, tough game & someone has to win etc... But that decision? Just a shame it has to come to that! Sums the season up for me! The officials have been dreadful and the game has REALLY suffered this year because of it! Let's hope it changes next year... icon_wink.gif

Quote: Saddened! "Fair enough, we were. BUT it would have been nice to have seen the game run it's course properly rather than be cut off prematurely.

All Saints would have needed would have been a penalty inside the 40. It's not like we had to score 3 or 4 times in 10 minutes.'"

Leeds were all over you, though, to be fair. They scored two tries to your one when it was eight all, and the second half was all leeds.

The last Smith try was a 50/50 call from where I was sat. Haven't seen the replay than other on the big screen but it looked 50/50 last night.

Poor, poor call. It took the game away from us which is a shame.

Having watched the game again though, we were our own worst enemies at times. 8-0 up, playing really well and we didn't kill them off. Big mistake!

Quote: Teessidewire "Only one person thought it was a try, unfortunately for you it was the Video Ref. It was definately offside, what's the point of the Video Referee when he ignores what's in front of him.'"
i find it difficult to believe that bentham was convinced both feet were behind the kicker. i wonder what ganson would have given had bentham passed it back as refs call!
