For a supporter of the Red Vee I would expect that you would have a little more respect for players that have literally put their bodies on the line for the sake of your 'entertainment'.
You don't play for your country and win Grand finals, in both hemispheres if you are a total waste of space.
Your comments are out of order because you give the man no repect at all.

Because the club mistakenly believed (I say this in in reprospect obviously) that he would recover past glories. No one was more disappointed than me that he never again became what he used to be i.e. the best loose in SL, possibly the world.
If they had known that he was never going to fully recover any decent form, they would have binned him.
So.....your point being?

That he gave his body and career to ensuring Saints were a successful team.

Sorry. I give JC respect for his good times with us, but I think he has been a drain on our very finaite resources for a long time.
Sorry but I'm thinking: knackered prop going = new not knackered prop arriving.
As I have said earlier; more than happy to keep KC, SL and Gilly for as long they don't become a drain on our club which is unfortunately losing a lot of £'s each year.
What if we had kept him on for another year? Would there be applause on this forum - I think not.

If you did and one or all get injured do they suddenly deserve the lack of respect you have shown?
Stick to following football son.

Never disagreed with this.
So, without being awkward what is your point?
Is it that we should keep past great players who can not get over serious injuries on the payroll forever?
That to terminate contracts is some sort of ungrateful betrayal?
Or is it the right thing to do in order to free up salary cap and also allow the club to keep young up and coming platyr to stay at the club.
Is this some sort of sacred cow that I have abused or is it really just the only way to run a club with limited resources?

No not at all but you should respect people that put you in the position you are.
Every player has a sell by date but to slate them for it as you did shows a lack of respect for those that have put you in the position you are now in and also if you cannot understand that fact you have never played the game.
Your initial post showed a total lack of respect to a player who gave his all for your club and was top class, i am sure most Saints fans would be happy to retain him despite his injury if it meant losing fans like you.

Does the same not apply to JC? He was one of the best props in the world when he signed for Saints and anybody that knows anything about the game knows this.
In 2006 he was awesome, doing basically what Graham is doing now. In 2007 he was very good even though he had a few injuries. 2008 he missed most of the season due to injury but was good in the games he played. 2009 he received the injury that has ended his career at Saints.
Personally I am gutted to see him go, when he was fit he was one of the best props in SL, he got through a load of work and always had an offload waiting for someone. I just hope we replace him with someone as good if not better

Because the lad is a muppet. I as a Wigan fan am sad to see him go out on such a note god knows why your own fans show the players such disrespect.

No it doesn't. And although I adored Scully, in the end I thought we kept him too long and was given too many chances to recover his fitness. Everyone - including himself - could see he wasn't the player he was.
In JC's case he was never of that quality for us IMO. My apparent disrespect for JCcomes from his being non productive through no fault of his own and holding us back in signing a new prop because of salary cap restrictions.
My major gripe is keeping perenially injured players but letting go SL and Gilly when (if you believe the forums on here) most people believe they were good for 2 more years.

Then you are someone who can't be bothered to read susequent postsSorry. I give JC respect for his good times with us, but I think he has been a drain on our very finite resources for a long time.'"
Thats the best I can give him which is slightly better than the "tribute" our chairman gave him.
I am not a fan nor was never was a fan of him.
I do wish him the best of luck and if I met him I would sincerely thank him for his efforts with us. I am not going to miss him though or cry into my cornflakes.
He will never be in our hall of fame.
No point in me crying fecking crocodile tears is there?
If I've upset anyone out there I am sorry but there is no need for personal abuse because I hold a contrary opinion or because I am not showing other peoples ideas of "respect".
