He's not going to get much off season is he? Maybe a couple of weeks, but in the event that we were to get to the Grand Final (or even just the the play offs) he'll finish at the beginning of october/end september and only have a few weeks to train/recouperate/etc etc. Seems a bit strange to me, is he going to be nipping down to Bath once a month to train with them? ?!?! ![]()
Last year the Ariva Premiership started on 10th September which is right in the middle of our Play Off's.

Obviously the reason Eastmond hasn't gone now is because Bath didn't want to pay the transfer fee so they're "willing" to accept that he won't have much time to prepare.
I expect he'll be making many "unofficial" visits to Bath during this Super League season, familiarizing himself with his new surroundings, teammates and maybe even training with them  . |

I think it's more likely that they accept that he'll be spending most of his time sat in their reserves. He'll also not need to get fit as he'll have had a season with us, what's the need for pre season training?

Hope he does and get's injured. The comp Bath would have to pay would dwarf a transfer fee (Ithink)

He'll be fit, no doubt, but he'll have played a whole season of Super League and then be going on to begin a new season of rugby union almost instantly? Surely his body will need a rest, especially given his "biscuit bones" status. |

He is not a huge loss to you IMO, Leon is what makes you tick when on the island!!
Eastmond is very over rated and I feel sure he will be back to RL very quickly for the simple reason he will fail to find anyone who panders him like saints did..
as a saints fan i would feel very let down by him personally

I think I'd rather he does a Lee Smith. Stays there for 6 months, hates it and comes back to us on a much cheaper contract.
The whole debacle has been mishandled, and bar the walking off on Friday, I'm not convinced it's all been down to him despite him getting all the blame. I think the delay in the announcement has been due to a combination of factors, but mostly his adviser (who let's not forget has previous with us) and the club. |

I just hope, as fans, we're able to conduct ourselves with a bit of class here.
Booing / abusing him from the terraces can only have a negative impact on the team, and whatever your thoughts on his decision and manner in which he went about making it, there are 16 other blokes out there in the red vee who are worthy of playing in front of positive support.
You might feel he's shown a lack of class by turning his back on the club that has invested in him at virtually the first opportunity, but we can rise above it as fans - and must do to prevent the rest of the season descending into pantomime.
