I'd be pretty worried if I was a Wigan fan. The fact saints only had 19 fit men and then lost another 2 after 30 mins and it took you until the last few secs to win the game!
From the 80 mins, saints was the better team for 60 mins of the game.'"
Yes, I'm very worried. We haven't played anywhere near to the standard we set last season so far yet were still sitting well in a comfortable playoffs position with a game in hand and also our next few games are against teams who are in the lower half of the table. We can only play what's in front of us and thats what we did yesterday.

I wasnt having a dig. It was that post trying to put us down saying we are a small club and Wigan was under cooked.
Your correct, you ain't half the team was last year and teams now hold less fear playing Wigan. You are sitting well in play off spot but without a little luck could be different. Wigan have struggled big time this year in few games.

Are you not worried that Wigan turned it on for 20 minutes and steamrolled you? With Saints having the ascendency for 60 mins. Like I said back in 2005 when Wigan were in dire straits we managed to finish you off, Saints however couldn't even manage the same.
To be honest looking at your team sheet you still pretty much had most of the main players available to you.
Wigan however, were also without the lynchpin prop who has led from the front for years, that has affected us so far against teams with good forwards like Saints.
I'm not concerned by Wigans form because with a game in hand we are a win off being joint top, not bad considering our 'poor form'
You are a smaller club than Wigan, as are Huddersfield and Salford, I don't understand the issue. Attendance-wise there's about 4 or 5 clubs that are better supported and thus bigger than you.

| You're a joke. No key players missing? Only our first choice half backs, our captain fullback (after we raced into a lead) and a Australian test prop who is streaks ahead of any prop Wigan can field.
Make no doubts about it. Saints lost that game themselves even without 7 players missing with injuries - 6 of those would of been in the 17.
Pryce
Perry
Flannery
Wellens
Wheeler
Clough
Gaskell
Add to that our main scrum half who is out for other reasons. That is alot of salary cap money not on the field. The best team 'definately lost which is the dissapointing thing.

Nope. You could only do it when we had Jammer and TP off the field and a bunch of 20 year olds defending the line. Not worried at all. Quite the opposite in fact. We put out a patched up team and still came within one minute of beating you, in spite of your ref's try in the first half. It's Wigan fans who should be worried. Wigan look rubbish compared to last year.

| Some top class trolling from ChrisPie2, well done pal.
Neither set of fans should be worried on yesterdays display, top class play throughout from both sides. Shame we couldn't nail the coffin shut when we were presented with numerous chances to, and shame Wigan kept their cool and showed why they're still the team to beat.

| As a Wigan fan I'd just like to congratulate your team and fans for playing their part in a superb derby yesterday.
Saints fans should be proud of their team as even though they were injury hit they still managed to push us all the way and bar for a piece of magic by Deacs at the end would have took both points.
Fantastic advert for the sport where both teams were fully committed without resorting to dirty tactics and played some really entertaining footy for a full house at DW and tv viewers at home.
Yesterday proved why Wigan - Saints is rugby leagues true derby game.

| It proves how much Saints are in decline by losing to such a mediocre Wigan team. We stuffed them not so long ago on their own patch.
Wire now top of the table again, looking down on the rest.

Jog on Troll Boy.
I'm sure the Wolfs would have had the same result against the Goons without; Morley, Wood, Briers, Myler, and Harrison and then losing Hodgson and Bridge before half-time.

| In work today it hit me we (Wigan) were in a similar position against Leeds 3 weeks ago. Looking likely to score a try in the final few seconds. Danny Buderus deliberatley gave a penalty on the tryline knowing that it would force Wigan into taking the draw. Do you think that a saints player especially on the last Mossop tackle should have given the 2 points rather than give the game away.

| Friday was the first time I've left a stadium after a loss and not been disappointed. Great effort, and a great atmosphere in our stand, made me proud to be a Saints fan.

| A great game in which lack of men and inexperience cost us. Losing two men playing in that heat always meant that we were going to be running on empty at the end, which we were as the defence showed.
Not many teams would have gone into a game with Wigan at the Pie Dome with their first three choice half backs missing, then lose their fourth choice half back before half time, and still come within 30 seconds of a win. Our young players made mistakes, the Lomax kick through at the end was an error, but it's the kind of mistake that you must accept that a young player will make in his development. If he's any good he'll learn from it.
We will take more positives from that game than Wigan will.
