| Well according to 5live and BBC webiste, he has signed 3 year deal at Bath but will stay until the end of this season at Saints.
A couple of points:
Firstly, I was not one of the fans booing Eastmond last Friday and I never woulr boo one of our own while they were playing for the club in the first team. When a player crosses the white line, they need our support. End of.
Now this news seems to have broken, we need to think about the future of Saints. The future of Saints is not Eastmond as he is leaving, therefore if I were Royce, I would be thinking seriously about next season already. This season is going to be tough. Playing matches in a temporary home that does not feel right, a predictable style of play that will take some time to coach out of us and not much chance of winning anything. Get a young lad in the team now to give him game time and experience in readiness for next season. Dare I say it, do a 'Ferguson' and put Eastmond in the reserves for the rest of the season. And all the fans get behind the team, week in week out, and support the boys on the field.
Then we go into our new stadium with optimism and we can look forwards. I am not an Eastmond-hater, I think he is a terrific player but I, like many others, am massively disappointed with him for the way he has handled all this.
Let's use this season to blood the young 'uns and look forward to next season.
COME ON YOU SAINTS!!!

| Let's look at this in another way. Kyle EA$tmond has only played 44 games and 16 as a sub yet were talking like like he's modern great! He's done nothing in the game that rewards at massive £200,000 a season. He's got great potential but until he proves his worth then potential is all he is.
He's not exactly set the world on fire in his 44 games and 16 as sub. Looking at this thread and me included it's totally over the top for a player that is potential! I'm first to admit he looked to have great future in the game but again he's proved nothing yet.
In the past we've had proven superstars turn down big money moves because of their love of the club, fans and Want to repay the club back that's looked after them.
At the end of the day he's no Sean long, KC, scully, wello, jammer or roby, he's a unproven kid with a big head.
Bye bye Kyle, I'm sure we will see you back in super league in two years time with a bottom of the table club but ey that bank balance will pull you thru

| From what it sounds like to me, I think we could perhaps cut Kyle a little slack over the delay in the announcement, as it may well have been simply due to the club looking for avenues to get him off the wage bill immediately.
However, there's no doubting that Kyle's level of performance, and particularly his on field attitude last Friday, have been way short of an acceptable standard. But given that he is coming back from injury, and given that he has had the uncertainty of this whole saga hanging over him so far this season, I'm happy to see how he gets on in the next couple of matches before calling for him to be dropped. It's all very well using Ferguson as an example, but if he drops a £15m player he can just replace him with another £15m player.
It's still very early in the season - let's see how he gets on now that this has been cleared up, as the best situation for all concerned will be if the player rediscovers his form and enthusiasm and plays an important role in the first team for the rest of the season.

| IMO Royce SHOULD continue to pick ea$tmond for the time being. He's had to make a very very tough choice for a kid and looks like he's had the weight of the world on his shoulders. Now that's lifted he might get back to playing his best rugby.
I'd see how he plays over the next month and see if he's giving his 100% as he's said he would. If after a month he's not putting the effort in then drop him to train and play in reserves. I wouldn't let him leave early unless bath pay for him or he walks away.
We can't just drop him now as same could be said for all players that are set to leave in the future like jammer. He needs to be given more time and see how he plays.

| Dux, you just beat me to more or less same post
I was told by someone at the club that the reason it took so long was because we wanted him to go now to get him off the cap and wanted money off bath to have him now.

As others have said though, he is a professional rugby league player. I now expect him to play to the top of his performance in every match because he has had a lot of investment from the club I pay my money to and I'd like to see a return on that investment. No 'touch choice for a kid' stuff for me. He isn't a kid. He is 21 years old. That makes him an adult. He is also a paid professional. So far as I'm concerned anyway if he doesn't play to the top of his game from now on in he should be dropped and one of our more enthusiastic professionals should have the opportunity to develop their game. I don't see why they should be held back just to facilitate Kyle Eastmond.

| I think the game in France at the weekend will be a good time for Kyle to try and get his RL head on as it will be away from most of the limelight. We will not have as many fans there like we have at a home or away game over here. Hopefully it will help him and us to all settle down again if we have got him until the end of the year.

| The announcement on the Club website screams 'boy are we pi$$ed off with him'.
Chapter closed in my opinion. He's made his decision, let's start making ours and we'll rebuild and be bigger and better without him. We've lost far far more significant players than him in recent seasons and survived.
The King is Dead. Long live the King.

We could 'survive' with no players given there is no relegation. But he is unquestionably the best youth player we've produced and we've not even got him established in the first team before he's left.

He isn't, both Roby and Cunningham are far better and there is certainly an argument that Graham is a better prop than Eastmond is a 7.
