The person who told me about this, who is quite involved behind the scenes at Odsal didn't mind this one being let out of the bag and into the public domain as it's only going to help the feel good factor at the club at the minute as we push on for the 10k worth of pledges (current total some 3500 short).

This deal (should it be struck) relies heavily on what we would get from either Canberra or Parramatta in regards compensation for his release.

But even so I would be very surprised if it is true and even if it was I could see a number of issues with it. The main one being that Bradford have not got any money spare to spend on transfer fees let alone Leons wages. The chance of getting a fee from an Austrailian club for Matt Orford is pretty unlikely. Surely any cash that comes into Bradford will get eaten up elsewhere. There terrible signings so far for 2011 would give weight to this suggestion.

That only leaves a part ex deal. So who would Saints want who currently play for the Bulls? Hardly anyone to be honest, maybe Halley would be a good signing. Donaldson and Whitehead are good lads but be have an army of second rowers so that is a none starter. That just leaves Tom and George which would result in the Bradford board hanging by ropes outside Bradford town hall.

This is what I think. Bradford are trying to boost season ticket sales. So they are “leaking” positive news stories to try and get people to come back to see their long lost son Leon Pryce. When it turns out to be as real as Wakefields stadium plans it’s too late and money is Bradford bank account.
