Hopefully, but we don't know that. From McManus' bizarre programme and press release soundbites it seems he genuinely believes he's one of the best players in the world. It wouldn't surprise me if he's still on a huge wedge.

Yeh it would have been much better for McManus to constantly bag the players and say we are just signing you as a backup in case Makinson falls flat on his face.

it all depends what these players are on. Cloughie is very underated by some fans imo. Meli, well if we're not in a grand final he's a good strong winger/centre still. Wello, well if he's on a lower wage and is there to help makinson/Ashe/whoever develop into our future 1 it makes sense. if he is still on top wages and is our first choice 1 everytime then its at best short sighted
