| Birchley St is not halfway to Wigan its a 15 min stroll , across Victoria sq past the bus station your in Shaw st , up Shaw st your almost at Lyons Yard , across the footbridge and your there, or turn down Peasley cross road , its not a 20 mile route march for gods sake !!
I am not kidding all the way through the build of the stadium and even during planning some people have been so negative about this , NOW they start on the parking, where did you park at KR!! it was a nightmare getting away from there , and finding on street parking was the same , I think some "fans" love nothing beter than to have a moan get a grip people.

| Just to keep you in the mood Grunty....
I'm right fed up of that bloomin' bridge. I've never seen a footbridge installation keep roads blocked and the town centre traffic at grid lock for so long. What are they up to? Now they've taken it apart again. Do they know what they're doing?
Is that negative enough

| Quote: jaybs "Sorry! yea that car park is ideal!
Can't understand the listing of some of all the car parks in Town for people to park, yes 1,600 plus places, but Park at Birchley Street you may as well walk from home! LOL
It's going to have to be a wait and see! I always find Wigan impossible with the traffic lights near Asda to turn right to M6.'"
Then go up Montrose Avenue, turn left into Pemberton, then right at the traffic lights. That will take you to Junction 26 of the M6.

| I presume from where I am travelling my best route will be to take the M62 at Stoops and follow the linkway to the ground.Sounds like parking will be a nightmare and makes you appreciate the advantages of KR with all the surrounding streets.

| Parking won't be a nightmare at all, but I suppose you may have to pay a couple of quid for some of it and walk a bit further. A problem if you are disabled perhaps, but I wouldn't think that it will be much, if at all, worse than Widnes.

always found parking at Widnes very easy due to the availability of streets in the vicinity

Well, in St Helens there is the availability of car parks in the vicinity, so why is parking suddenly a nightmare?
Geez, anyone would think that some people were being asked to climb Everest to get to a bloody match!

My late Dad used to walk from Parr to Knowsley Road and back every game! but my era was the 22 bus, think for a lot of people times have changed again with the number of cars, you don't drive to a ground or park then walk 15 minutes! anyway Langtree may still come up with the land on the site for a pay car park and pocket some money themselves.

| Parking was easy in Widnes, but if you got there near to kick off you'd have a 5/10 minute walk to the ground.
The same situation will apply here.
I don't see an issue with parking at all.

It won't bother us early birds, especially if Mrs Rogues taxi is all fired up, or use the "pensioners bus pass"

| I'm puzzled. Which stadium has a car park for fans. The world famous anfield. Old trafford perhaps.
Oh yes KR had loads of parking.
This will be the same as any other stadium. The trick with parking will be how much of a walk up Saints got from the surrounding areas. If it was say 50\50 walking to travbelling then there will be little in the way of problems. If it was more 80\20. in the favour of walk ups at KR then the increase in car usage may become and issue.

as we live out of town yes on the dark side car parking could be quite stress full for my wife for the new stadium she is not a blue badge holder either she can walk but its slow.I sent St.Helens council an e-m asking about park & rides & other parking there is lot of info on here i know. The council e-md back saying that there is plenty of surface parking but the multi -storeys will close at 7pm wtf.I hope they keep them open tho.The cars if left open while late could be at risk from the chavs tho can't see them being patroled even if open late.Do you think park & ride would pay in St.Helens.I mentioned Lea Green for a park & ride stop but they poo pood it.Ask the council yourself

| Was on site parking ever part of the original plans for the stadium?? if not why the fuss now? my only concern is living near the town traffic could be a problem for me..I thought traffic taking a short cut to KN was bad enough but I fear this might now be worse..time will tell.
