It amuses me how people conveniently forget that Pryce has had three finals' worth of practice to make a difference against Leeds and has failed to do so on each occasion!
This game was lost the minute Shenton went off. We were overwhelmed at that point, regardless of Scott Moore being an idiot, which he is and he certainly didn't bloody help.

I never said that. But he is ALWAYS better placed than a fan to judge the utility of a player.

The is a few that ain't done anything in a few grand finals against Leeds and not just pryce.
We will never know if Leon would have made all the difference and it's all down to opinion but IMO he should have been on the bench.

| Quote: Roy Haggerty "If I can just reprise this thread, you could argue that tonight was a good example of why Moore's negatives outweigh his positives. Saints were 8 points up, with momentum all their way, about to force Leeds to come away from their line again, and Saints were at that point running stronger and tackling better than a weary-looking Leeds outfit who hadn't had possession in the Saints half for an age. He'd already given away at least one penalty that I can recall, but momentum was with us. He then delivers a completely needless clothes line high tackle, Leeds boot it into our half, and it is essentially all over from that point. That set of 6 led to Shenton's arm break, Leeds' comeback try, and from that point on, it's all Leeds. It was a classic example of a turning point in a game.
Brainfarts like that cost not just matches, but championships. Get rid.'"
According to the demics fans he is going there for cert.
1. Thought the pen was harsh and I was right near it.
2. Think you are pushing it a bit blaming scotty for Shentons injury?
3. We will see on Mon via the Opta stats whether he gave the most pens. I saw two but I think Sia gave away three and was also guilty with Meli for the hall try.
I think you are wrong and we should keep him.
At least he had a real go unlike other some "senior" players e.g. wilkin (was he playing), Jammer (one game too many) LMS (looked a bit flat - again!) and TP (not looked himself since coming back from his injuries.

| Shenton got injured because of scott moore.
You were 8 up and cruising with 20 to go and then on the very first tackle, moore high tackles jones bishop on the kick return under no pressure.
From the next play clarkson drives in and shenton injures his arm. Then it was one way traffic.
You take that high tackle out of the equation, the last 20 follows a completly different timeline. One where saints are penning leeds in their own half without the shenton injury and leeds being able exploiting it.
Take away that one act and people on here would be cock a hooot.
It was the very definition of a turning point in a big game.

I agree with all this sadly. I like Scott Moore as a players a lot but that loony penalty turned the game completely and definitely cost us the game - our forwards looked on the verge of really starting to put the hammer down and start rolling all over them - instead with Shenton off it was open season down Saints' right, and Leeds are just far too good a side out wide to let that go to waste. If the rumours of him being off are true then maybe that's not a bad thing right now...

Spot on with this. Our forwards were pants in the first half.
The problem with Scott Moore is that he lacks brains. He has the aggression we sorely need in our forwards but he lacks the brains to direct it appropriately. But his penalties alone were not the reason we lost.
We lost in part because our forwards were pants in the first half, meaning our young halves had no space to work in, and we lost overall because Wello and Shenton went off. Shenton was having a great game and so was Wello. Having a combo of Meli and Soliola on one edge was like offering Leeds an early Christmas present, gift wrapped and all.

True, Wayne Bennett stated, If you take any notice of the fans it won't be long before your sat with them.

Very true, and when your Wayne Bennett you can be like that. The flip side is of course if you ignore the fans you end up at Bradford ...

Its still absurd to blame moore for shentons injury.
Shnetons injury was a freak accident which could have happened at any time.

It's unreal that anyone can blame Moore for shentons injury, it was a freak accident.
